A Mister Rodgers Day!

Wow what a good day it has been, I actually did something at work that I wanted to do! Got to work on a project for once! Thoughts on our weather here in North Texas! It is getting to be winter! Snow in the forecast, Wednesday to be exact. They do not expect any on the ground but I can hope!

I talked to my family in PA today; they are to be below freezing all week and have snow on the ground. I wish that I could be there but it is not in the cards this year. Will go north in the summer (August for 2 weeks.)

It was a sad day for the police officer that got shot last Wednesday, they buried him today. There were over 3000 people that attended the viewing as well as the actual funeral. What a show of support. I heard that they have collected close to 100K for the family. He had a wife and 2 children; a 4-year-old boy and a 9-year-old daughter. It is my hope that the city takes good care of the children as well as the wife. In today’s society, it is hard to tell what will happen in the future. I know that in a few weeks when all the people stop stopping by and giving them attention, will be the hardest on them. God speed to Officer Henry “Hank” Nava and god bless the family.

Officer Nava’s 9 year old daughter, Kayleigh sent a letter to the man that killed her father: it read as follows:

Dear, Mr. Heard,
I want you to know that you would not know how sad we are in this hospital even if it shot you in the head. And I hope you have a long cruel death but actually I know you will have a long cruel death. And you might have not had to get death if you just surrender. And your took my daddy away from me, my brother and mom and are loving friends, family, and loyal police officers. But I know he’s going to be with GOD. And he really hurt my cousins heart because they loved my dad like there own dad. And I know you are going down and my dad is going to Heaven. And I wanted you to know that I know GOD has won victory and he has my daddy right now with him.
Sincerely
Kayleigh

It brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. You can feel what she felt when she wrote the letter.
