Life Imitating Art

In trying to add some art to my blog with some of my favourite pictures (as I love collecting beautiful pictures) I came across this awesome photo and I just had to share!

Volunteers, in Beloit (for those of you who don't know where this is--I didn't at first-it's in Wisconson), came together to recreate George Seurat's famous “Sunday Afternoon on the Island of LaGrande Jatte”. Personally, I am an admirer of impressionism and so this photo has always caught my fancy but the moderne version is just as great and in a way even greater because real people were used to create it.

Strangely, since first seeing it I can't stop smiling. Probably, because I think it really cool to see real people work together (on anything these days) and demonstrate how life imitates art (which really imitates life). It made me smile and I knew I had to add it to my blog somehow as both a memory for myself and for all of my friends.

So, kudos to the folks of Beloit...even if it's not 100% identical you did a great job and I certainly give it two thumbs UP!!

Kisses,
Lonely

**NOTE....The top picture is the one of people in Beloit and the bottom is the famous painting by Seurat.
