Going on hiatus

If there's one thing that seems to be a problem with my situation, sometimes I think I'm too picky. Even with changing my Cupid settings a bit, I've still ran through all of my close matches who live close enough to where I can see them on a regular basis. And living on Delmarva, the pickings just aren't there like they would be in a more populated area.

So while I was out riding my bike today and thinking about life, I decided that I'm really spending more time and effort here than I should. It's not that I don't like the site, but I'm at a point of diminishing returns right now. I e-mail back and forth with three very nice ladies, and I also follow a couple others here via their blogs and groups. But really after sending out an e-mail tonight, I have no one left who interests me and is within a close distance (according to the Cupid matches, and I wasn't THAT strict with them) that I haven't contacted already.

And part of the problem comes with losing weight, although it's sort of a nice problem to have. A month ago I decided to get out my bike which had sat in my outdoor closet for the 18 months or so since I moved here. At first I struggled to ride a couple miles without a break, but today I rode about 4 1/2 miles and a good chunk of that into a strong headwind. So I'm in a lot better shape than I have been in several years because I've dropped 60 pounds, and I enjoy tooling around my area to see some places I haven't been. During the summer I really prefer being outside as much as I can, and my computer's in my bedroom.

So for the time being, I'm probably only going to check on this site maybe twice a week instead of daily. I'm going to stay a member, and moderate my group (Lower Shore FWB's) although there's nothing to moderate now. I get notified when there's an e-mail for me but like I said most of the good friends I contact are all contacted off AdultFriendFinder now.

I guess I'm to a point where I'm going to go out into the real world and focus my search there a little bit more. With so much on my plate as it is, something's got to give and this is the something. So don't be surprised if you look at my profile and it doesn't say "last visit: today".

Good luck to you. I hope that you're not getting as much rain there as we are here in Baltimore, hon. And if you're out riding that bicycle, then you're not getting the rain. Good for you. I too have had my bike sitting in the garage, brand-new, never ridden, for 2 years now. THIS summer is the one! No more procrastination.

*L*

PS -- Congratulations on the weight loss!

As far as the weight loss, thanks. I'll be doing more exercise shortly, gotta go "heave the rock" (bowl.)

And so you know, aside from Friday when we had a pretty good gullywasher, the rain's skirted this part of the state - but go 15 miles north and into Seaford, DE and they were hit really hard with a foot or so. Glad it's pretty much over.

Actually, when you ride your bike (by yourself) it is nice alone time to think. Sounds like you have quite a bit to think about.

By the way, I'm not big on tattoos or extra piercings, but the nipple piercing will go away easily enough if you get tired of it - a tattoo is much more like forever. Just my two cents since I'm here today for a bit.
