Some people deserved to be stirfried....

There's one thing I dislike - a person who doesn't turn up on a date.

If you are late - ok, fair enough... we can't help with that part. I would call if I got the person's number to tell I would be a little late, or vice versa. I am late 99% of my date.

Reasons to why I am late? I left the house late. I was in a traffic congestion. I was waiting for one of the various public transports that I use.

It is obvious that one should informed the other person they would late or can't come. I had people who called to say they can't come and see me because they got work to do. Fair enough. But to never call?

I once promised a date to a guy - he said, lets meet at KL Sentral. I went there and I waited. And waited. And waited. I went home and feeling utterly foolish and absolutely annoyed.

There was no call. No text. Nothing.

One whole day passed when he send a message on my YM. He said he got caught up with work. Blablablabla.

I told him - you got my number. You should have the decency to call me - to tell me - that you can't come and see me. Instead I got nothing.

He asked for a 3rd chance. I was not interested.

So the guy was in the chatroom last night. He said he saw me somewhere in KL last week. And he said I looked him.

Excuse me... I never even seen him. I don't even know how he looks like - and I always look at people. I am not blind nor am I oblivious to people 90% of the time. But, to assumed I knew who he was and looking specifically at him? Hah.

Since he had spotted me in KL - he asked me out again. No way. Once bitten, twice shy. I am not going to make a fool of myself. I rather be with my companion who called me once to tell me, he cant make it on our date than make me travel all the way and found out he is not around.

i share your thoughts lithium. not turning up without a call and those who call something like a minute b4 the set date (like you are already at meeting point) are such &^$#$o&. they have no sense of respect for others' time and dont deserve 2nd chances or any other. hope u need not encounter any of such incidents again

I know how you feel. Really sucks.

For the most part, I will always show on time, or be early.
Last lady that wanted to meet me for lunch was over an hour late, then she calls and says she will be late. (Gee, thanks!)

Then when she shows up, it made me think I should have left 15 minutes ago. Absolutely nothing like what she had in her ad. That will teach me for saying ok to meeting someone that didn't have a pic on their ad, nor would send me one. In fact, up until she called me about being late, all communication was by email.

Anyway, after 45 minutes of being a gentleman and trying to see if she had any intellect under that dry personality, I got bored and decided there isn't no way in hell I'm going to let this lady have me and left.

I got left hanging a couple times before that as well, but thankfully I had reserves on my cell phonebook that were more than happy to show up and share a nice bottle of wine at a beachside restaurant.

I was late one time on a date and I had no number to call the person. I was caught in a horrid traffic jam and the taxi driver and I were frustrated. One hour in a car is too much for me. So ... I got the call, and he asked where I was.

He waited till I arrived and we had a great dinner. Like I said, being caught in a traffic jam is something one can't have control over ... and I was certainly not amused being late one whole hour.

Oh, there are various sadistic things I could think of, but you know - it was his lost. Who told him to bail out on me and made me feel like a fool. Serves him right ... I am not interested in guys like him ....

I would understand one would be late - if they are taking the train like me ... or caught in traffic jams. But ... yeah ... those who never inform the other party is just plain rude.

I have driven over 80 miles (128 kilometers) to pick up a date. With Los Angeles traffic, most people wouldn't bother.

But then again, I've flown over 8000 miles, rented a car and still made a date on time. Think I would get a complaint if I was a hour late?

I agree completely. Everyone has a cellphone. Use it.
At least call and say your on the way, or you decide to chicken out and bail. Then I'd know where I stand and move on.
