How do you handle it?

I have issues with handling disappointment. Especially when it's my fault and it's not just the other person I'm disappointing but myself as well. I end up angry at myself...and sometimes they think I'm angry at them too (which I'm not). I'm getting older but this is one thing I've always wrestled with.

So...how do you handle disappointment?

How do you handle it when you are disappointing someone else?

What makes it easier?

When I'm disappointed, I pout, go take a nap, or vent in the Asians Chat room..they don't understand me anyways, so no one gets hurt...LOL

When I disappoint someone else, it would depend on how much I care about them, though...again, resorting to the Asian chat room works at times!

Try it...they try so hard to talk back to you, politely, and here ya are swearing like a harridan.

You DO know I'm kidding, don't ya? Ummm..if you're looking for me, you know where I'll be...

Lis...
Well, if the disappointment is My fault, I change. But if it's the other person's fault, then I feel it is up to that person to do so.

By lowering my standards I'm disappointed less often... nothing drugs and alcohol can't cure.
*hits head*...now why didn't I think of that

I try not to expect too much, that is they way I have had to handle most of my life and when it does work out.... thats great. Even today when I have far more control over my life I know if I expect a phone call or email, a visit from someone, a letter to arrive, the majority of time I will be disappointed so I do my best to just wait it out. I am a great believer in fate.... it will happen if destined to happen and if it doesnt...wasnt meant to be.

If I disappoint someone, and I really try never to do it, I will do my best to make up for it in future.
