Kitz Kitz how does your garden grow?
With hot tubs, and cold Buds,
And pretty teddybears all in a row.
Be that as it may *EG*, I also design gardens for all occasions. And I do have some hints for those problem areas.
Damp Shade - hydrangea, any kind
Dry Shade - rhododendron, native species
Dry Sun - roses, Rugosa only
Damp Sun - lavenders
this is assuming you have our usual clay soil.
Instead of ornamental grasses, yuck, plant Scotch Broom. Instead of just an evergreen around your foundations, plant Heathers.
Every property should have, somewhere, a patch of Tiger Lilies to guard them. Grrrrr. LOL
Do not plant a tree in the middle of your front lawn in front of your house. You want to set your house off like the central jewel in a crown, not obscure it. Move all such trees to the sides, back, or corners of your property.
To screen your 'play area' from the view of the neighbors, plant Leyland Cypresses at 5 foot on center intervals around the perimeter. Be advised that they grow very large very quickly and they prefer sun.

No questions but I do enjoy this side of you, very earthy. I could say more but I will be good.|
