seniliity

It's not been the best of weeks.
This week after many months of steady decline my grandmother passed away at 83 years of age. Like so many who reach a lofty age she suffered dementure due in no small part to the failure of most of the major organs, heart, liver, kidneys etc.
By contrast both my grandfathers died of heart failure.....quickly.
This leaves me with just one grandmother wasting away with dementure in an old folks home. A cruel way to go.
Now I know there are a growing number of folk who develop early-onset dementure in their 40's....often leaving teenage children to "cope" the best they can.... but that aside I can't help feeling that dementure is nature's way of telling us that living a very long time isn't good.
Ahh well, I'm off to cook a nice fatty lasagne, each sheet of pasta is going to be laminated with rioctta cheese and a buttery sauce. Hmm....oh yes and tomato, vegetables and tomato sauce too.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I have no words of wisdom to help deal with this other than to say I am sending you a good thought.

MMMMM, lasagne. My mouth is stating to water.
