Words to Live By

I'm not sure if these words are appropriate to this forum but I am posting them anyway.....

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis...It is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.

Mother Theresa

Great post!!! and all is so true!!! I like " If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway. My mother once said honesty was not always best,I beg to differ, you should always be honest,there is no misunderstanding this way.

I was never raised Catholic, but Mother Theresa always had fine words to live by. Her words transcends all religions....too bad that she couldn't have lived to be the Pope some day -- that would have surely rocked the Catholic world!!

Geez...where to start... I do believe I could sit here all night and read your posts...especially about your grandmother... mine was an awful lot like that too....lol. I also miss her a great deal.

However...I can't...sit here all night, but come this weekend... I'm gonna pay your blog a visit. Very fun reading...love the references to the Wizard of Oz.... You know... I can damn near act the whole damn thing out...all parts...and voices..lol..in fact, I did just that one day at work many, many years ago.... was quite the performance and won great raves from several co-workers who to this day....still remember it as if it were yesterday. Such fun. I wonder if the younger folks get it? Oh well...

Anyway... love the blog... keep up the good work.

Regarding your "I'm not sure if these words are appropriate to this forum but I am posting them anyway....."... I've been Buddhist for the last 18 years...and regardless of faith...and regardless of who said them...there is absolute truth to each line....that, my friend...is how you create good Karma...and value in your life. Now, I'm not a religious person, but do believe in creating good causes...in order to recieve good benefit...and those words are the correct way to achieve it. No doubt about it. I think it's cool you put it out there...gives people a chance to realize there are other ways. Thank you for that. Jean/slide...

So, what Mother Teresa is really saying is force a square peg into a round hole ‒ Man that did not sound good.

My apologies, my sense of humor gets the better of me some times. Beautiful sentiments really…

Mother Theresa received "beautifcation" by the catholic church in 2003. One step towards her canonization towards sainthood.

In official Church procedures there are three steps to sainthood: one becomes Venerable, Blessed and then a Saint. Venerable is the title given to a deceased person recognized as having lived heroic virtues. To be recognized as a blessed, and therefore beatified, in addition to personal attributes of charity and heroic virtue, one miracle, acquired through the individual's intercession, is required. Canonization requires two, though a Pope may waive these requirements.

The Roman Catholic Church since the 10th century has officially applied the standard of holiness of life to certain individuals who lived exemplary Christian lives and through a lengthy process of prayer and study have declared that the individual is in heaven.

After the death of an individual, who may be a candidate, the local bishop and a panel of theologians at the Vatican and cardinals of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints investigates their life for martyrdom. After their approval the pope proclaims the candidate "venerable."

Since miracles are considered proof that an individual is in heaven and can intercede for us. Evidence of one miracle is required for beatification. The miracle must take place after the individual's death and be the result of a specific petition to that individual. In the case of martyrs the evidence of a miracle is not required for beatification. The pope then proclaims the individual, " beatified or blessed".

There is a requirement of evidence for one more miracle of this individual before the pope will canonize the saint.

BTW - There are 285 documented saints.

Maybe its a miracle that here we are on a sex related web site talking about Mother Theresa...Hmmmmmm....food for thought.

"Maybe its a miracle that here we are on a sex related web site talking about Mother Theresa..."

Obviously there is more to us than our sexual side. Isn't blogging wonderful?

Spoken by a true saint...Mother Theresa...nice post my dear Keith.

True there is more to us than our sexual side...we initially arrive here looking just for that..sex..we read about bloggers and their stories...happy ones...informative ones...sad ones...and realize we are only human after all.
