No Patience for Inconsiderate People

Why are some people so inconsiderate? Especially when you're doing something to help them out???
I do volunteer work for this organization, same day, same time, every other week.
I arrive at my designated time to do the work needed and when I get there, about 10 other people (who are there for the first time) are lounging and having a grand ole time right where I complete my work (the only place adequate for my work to get done).
They know why I'm there, nevertheless I reiterate that I need to start working (I'm on a schedule). They're busy laughing and socializing with their food and crap all over the place and pretty much ignore me. So instead of a confrontation, I pack up my stuff and leave.

I know I should have been more agressive...I tend to hold things in.

Now, I'll rearrange my whole schedule and go back when the place is closed and do my work in solitude. Oh well.

I just don't understand how people can be so ignorant. We need more love in the world.

I know Exactly how you feel. I have been here for 5 years today
I have given Information to get a job done right, Its been ignored,
Then After they have put thier perverbial Testicals in the wringer, they come crying to me that I was too crittical. ( They have no idea of the restraint in my comments I used.) You get paid to do a job do it right- if you vollenteer to do a job You should have the same attitude as if you were getting paid,Instead thier attitude was "Who is going to know or care" I've done both let them do as they please & really foul things up,Or Speak my mind they ignore me & still foul things up.Higher up the food chain is watching & these people have been warned. Some times You just have to walk away & let them realize what they are missing when your gone for a while.its not more love but simple courtesy, & common sense we need. & some people just wouldn't know what that is even if it came up & bit them in the rear end.

While I can definatly understand your frustration, I don't agree with your method or resolution. What happen when those loiterer decide to hang out at this new time that you have chosen to go to work? Will you just simply continue to alter your schedule and your life to avoid confrontation?

Not that we have every truly existed in that 'Leave it to Beaver', 'Brady Bunch', 'Cosby Show' type society. (Hell even the Cos got caught sticking his 'pudding pop' where it didn't belong.) But with each passing day we get further from that utopia. And at some point if you don't stand up and say; "Hey! Listen Jerk! This is my time, my space, my..." then the places and the times to hide will eventually dissapear.
