eatting single........grab that can opener..

man how many nights of soup and crackers or peanut butter sandwiches does one eat a week, when your single you dont usually eat worth a shit, i know ive been doing it a year now, even if my divorce was just the other day i havent ate to many damn good meals, im sure my body is gonna rebel one of these days. i eat lousy, snacks mainly, not good ones either, little debbies, and the like, i should have taken out stock in peter pan peanut butter.,as much as i went thru this year.i very seldom eat at moms,i usually like to get home before dark, so i dont stay at her house that long. ill grab biscuits and gravy from mcdonalds some mornings to take to work,or a couple of hot apple pies, but alot of nights i dont eat. i put a turkey for xmas in the fridge the other day , so ill eat great for a week, guess christmas is at my house,my place is bigger than mom s or my sisters, and theirs so many little ones now, i have 5 grandkids,my sis has 2 little ones, plus my 4 grown kids. so ill have a house full but its not a problem here. any ways just polished off a can of vegtable beef soup, lots of crackers squished up in it, good warm meal though i guess,,, i do miss cooking the meals i use to when the kids were small, dont miss the dishes though!...lol

I think lots of us feel the same way. I love to cook, but recipes are usually for four people, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to cook a full meal. I end up doing lots of stir-fry and salads. About once a month I'll make spaghetti (and it'll last several days). I don't even bother doing a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner - I still go all out and end up with food for several weeks.

It is very difficult to work up enough ambition to cook for one. Seems ridiculous, but it is. The grocery store I shop at has finally started to stock items that are great for the single person to purchase. Salad bars are always a good option as well. My kids are going to be here for the holiday but I doubt if there will be any leftovers. Those boys can eat like horses, especially when Mom cooks a turkey LOL Have a great holiday

Seriously. I've been known to skip meals if I have to cook for myself or eat alone. Not a terrible thing. I usually put on 10 lbs. when I'm in a relationship - far too much eating. Think about it, when you go on a date, what do you do together? You go to lunch, you go to dinner, you go on a picnic, you grab a coffee or a milkshake... always eating together.
