wrapping up the weekend

I don't regret the end of the weekend so much now. I work a rotating schedule with other Managers and I go to a much better one starting tomorrow. I get a life back from working the late shift. Now I get off at the same time as most other people! Had my parents over for an early lunch. They live in Arkansas about 40 miles away. Very small town. I worry about them driving, they are 74 and almost 80. They both have good eye sight, are mentally sharp and have good reflexes. However at some point things will start to slip and they will not be able to drive safely. How to tell them when that time arrives? I know I love to drive, you know that too if you have read any of my blog. Although I now have a nice sports car to drive for pleasure, I have always gotten joy from driving. Even when I was not doing so well earlier in my life and drove stripped down economy cars, I still loved to drive. I had a 3 cylinder Geo Metro and I still loved driving! Later I had a compact truck and even then LOVED to drive. Now I have a '96 Miata and an '01 Mazda 626, both of which are very nice. I like the act of driving and the idea of going some where special or no where in particular. I work in an office setting, so getting outside is a lot of fun for me after being shut in all day. I like seeing new things and enjoy all of the seasons, except the hottest part of summer and coldest part of winter. Winter around here lately has been very mild, so not much problem there. Bjork had a lyric that said something about traveling is discovery and home is what has already been found, something like that. I agree, I like my home, but I like seeing other things too. Drove out tonight in the cool evening, very nice, had the new Aimee Mann CD on, it is good. I would have liked to have a good old fashion sex romp this weekend, but it did not happen. That's OK, wasn't meant to be, but with my better hours this month, I will have more opportunity to meet with ladies. Working so late made it hard to do. Oh well, time to work out.....later,
