Got up early and you guessed it, went for a top down drive. Have to do that early in the morning to beat the heat. Loved it. On my way back home on I-30, I saw an Aston Martin Vantage Convertible...about $150,000 I think. He had the top down, but the side windows up and a huge wind blocker behind the seats. What's the point? "I want the top down, but don't want the feel of having it down...don't mess up my hair"? I don't get that. Liked the car though. I would rather spend that amount on a house instead and keep my Miata! I always travel state highways or farm to market roads for the nicer scenery, but took I 30 for some reason on the way back. My drives are always random, pick a direction and go. Then only considerations are time of day, position of the sun and how long a drive I want or need. Sometimes I have a destination, others times not. Lake DeGray is always nice, about 1.5 hours from here. I take my digital camera and try to take interesting pics. The one I posted on an early blog entry was one. It was an empty farm field, a line of telephone poles going away from me across the field...they were all leaning to the left at an odd angle...all at the same angle all across the field. I have another of one of those old big dish satellites, 7 foot solid the end of the center rod in the middle of that huge dish was....a new smaller dish satellite mounted on the end!!! Mounted in the front yard of course. Anyway, spent some time tonight talking online with a very nice lady. She lives about 2 hours from here near Little Rock. I hope to continue chatting with her. Have not had much new response from others recently. Spent the rest of the morning cleaning my car. Cooked a FANTASTIC steak for lunch and had the blissful feeling of satisfaction all day.

I don't have a convertable, but I enjoy random driving. It drives my daughter nuts when I get the urge. "But, Mom, we have to be going SOMEwhere!" "Nope. Just on a drive!!! Look at the cows... look at the flowers....oops, did you see those ducks????? lol... "....

Thank you for your comment!!! Since I have to plan so much of my day at work, I like to leave as much of my personal live as unplanned as possible.

There's nothing more relaxing than hopping in the old car, putting it in gear and just going..doesn't matter where! I find that some of my most relaxing moments are when I've taken a back road home after a long day of work..

By the way I did get my wallet back from the charges on my visa either..guess you say I was lucky!
