The Week Begins

I had a good weekend, very restful and quiet. I am on vacation this week, so I am hoping for a relaxing week as well. No big plans, take a few nice drives, visit a friend and maybe help my parents with some things.

The friend I will visit suffered the loss of his mother on Friday evening, the services are today for her. I will not attend them, I was not close to his family. I asked if he wanted me to attend to support him, but we discussed this and my coming to his place and us just hanging out later would help him get back to normal. He lives about 90 miles away and I will visit later in the week. He is my oldest friend, we met about 22 years ago when we worked at the same place. He and his girlfriend have been together a long time and they have a child together, so he has support from others as well.

Situations like this make you think of bigger things. I don't have the whole BIG question figured out, but I don't believe in god, heaven and hell, reincarnation, ghosts, spirits, etc. I think when your time is up, that's it. The lights go out and it's over. Many people see this as depressing or empty, but I do not. I believe the time to live is NOW, not in some promise of an afterlife. LIVE NOW!!! Humans need a purpose. Just hanging out in heaven with no purpose, nothing to do, nothing to strive for, everyday the same.....sure you would be free from torture and want (if heaven existed) but what would you do for ALL eternity? This is not a flip question, just hanging out, doing nothing forever? I can't do that for two days without going nuts. Being reincarnated would suck if you came back in some desperate place with a restricted society, no food or hope. I would not want to be a spirit, just hanging out, but having your family or friends call you back through a medium to ask STUPID questions. The idea of god just doesn't make sense to me. All the religions have a different take on it, even if you stay just in the christian religions, they all have different opinions on how to please god, get to heaven, etc. Then try to take into account all the other non-christian religions and try to figure it out. If for example, the christians have it right and all the others are wrong, then is being born in the wrong place, say the middle east where most people are muslims or Asia where many are buddhists, hindus or muslims, a sure ticket to hell for them? Is entry into heaven just a matter of location and what religion is dominate there? Because people in other parts of the world believe their religion is also the one true religion, too. Most people will not change their religion just because they have heard of a new one. Would you? But what if your beliefs are wrong and the new one is the ONE TRUE RELIGION? How would you know? You want to do what is right, but what IS right? The majority of people who change religions do so for marriage. Some many rules, so many ways to get it wrong. I would think if god existed, everything would be clearer so we could at least try to get it right.

Anyway, I am going to enjoy my time off. I have sent out some new emails to some interesting profiles, no replies as yet. I have not been with the one lady I really enjoy spending time with in a while, hope to soon. I heard from one lady by phone that I use to enjoy being with, she is in Georgia of all places. She might make it back to this area. I exchanged offline messages with a lady I met once, wish I could spend more time with her, too.

Have a good day and don't hate me. The one thing I have figured out is that negative energy damages the person who has it.....

I'm sorry for your friends loss, as to religion, to each his own, whatever gives one comfort in their hours of need. No one could hate you, you are a good person who really is caring.

I agree, if it improves your life, makes you feel good, then go with religion. My choice doesn't have to be everyone's choice. Thanks for your comments......
