It has a name! It's a alive!

The name is a line from the late Hunter S Thompson's great novel "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". In it he wrote (paraphrased)...there is nothing more depraved than a man in the depth of an ether binge...He became popular in the '60's. He wrote about drugs, alcohol and general weirdness. He also wrote Hell's Angel's, Songs of the Doomed, The Great Shark Hunt (gathered short stories, newspaper and magazine articles) and others. He wrote a lot for Rolling Stone, back when it was a magazine that mattered. He was part of the New Journalism along with Tom Wolfe. They inserted themselves into their stories instead of just being the story teller. Thompson wrote an article on the death of Hemingway back in the 60's in which he wrote his own obituary. He said Hemingway killed himself because his body could no longer allow him to live the way he wanted....Thompson did the same, after years of bad and declining health, he shot himself. His ashes, per his request, will be shot out of a cannon. I can't say I have missed him since his death, because I have missed him for a lot longer than that. As his health got worse, he wrote less. The picture is of the man in his glory. R.I.P.
