the beginning to the present

Well, I joined AdultFriendFinder a couple of months ago as I was getting sick of the bullshit on conventional dating sites.

Isn't it ironic that on those sites the men say they are looking for Miss Right and the women say they want no strings sex and both are lying !

I thought on here there would be more people being honest about their requirements and intentions, there does seem to be more openness and honesty.

I have met a couple of great guys and a few tossers who still feel the need to bullshit that they want more than they really do.

A tip to those who bother to read this or actually do want to meet people for regular, consensual excitement is to actually read the bloody profiles !

Welcome to Blogland.

As you read through the more active blogs, I think you will be pleased to find just how open many of us are. There will always be the "tossers" and they will always be in the majority, but here you improve your chances of finding a keeper.

good luck in your search.

K: I was having similar thoughts this morning about the AdultFriendFinder crowd....So many people wanting to date "out of their range" as it's too bad people cannot be more satisfied with who thay are and what's attracted to them.

Out of their range? What sort of bullshit is that? My range is 18 year olds if I want to pay for it.

I don't think the game is much different here than anywhere else. It's mostly talk and not much walk. But there are some nice people in blogland, just don't expect to actually meet anyone and you will probably not be disappointed.

Funsweet - you sound just like me - I enjoy sex and am happy to find it on my travels but am I unrealistic hoping to find a long term arrangement which I can bring all my sexual energies to?

one4all65 - be honest in everything you say - if you only want one night stands then let the person know - there is nothing worse than building someone's hopes up to let them down. I think if you want no strings that it's better to have that with a person who has a commitment elsewhere.

Couldn't agree more about men reading profiles. lol! Lets face it, women get more messages than men, so why can't the guys see that the best way to get our attention is to at least mention something in our profiles so that we know they've at least glanced at it. I always just delete the ones that look like they've just sent the same message to everyone.

When I first joined this site a couple of years ago I tailored all my messages to the profiles of the women I contacted and I never contacted any women who had said anything that ruled me out.

It must have taken over a hundred such messages, all long ones too, before I got a single reply that didn't want me to register with a pay website to meet up with them or call a premium rate number.

I was at the point of thinking every female profile was not genuine and just some sort of money making scam when I had a genuine reply that let to a meeting.

I was a gold member so could read all profiles but since I lost faith in the site and didn't renew my membership I can't read anyones profile. It effectively makes it impossible to write you a meaningful message because all I have to go on is your picture if you have one. Having said that, I can't initiate a mail contact as a standard member anyway so I'd have to make contact this way or through a chat room. I've kind of given up on initiating contact now because my hands are tied and the chances of me receiving a message are almost negligible.

Getting back to the point (sorry), it is irritating to spend a lot of time writing a specific message to someone as try_Me45 says, only to get no reply at all, not even a 'sorry not interested'. It does happen a lot, believe me, so it would be easy to get drawn into a short standard message to find out if there is even a glimmer of interest in you. Such short messages don't inspire you to reply so it's rather a catch 22.
