What is your favorite song and why?

If you have seen The Crow then you might know about this song.
It is really at the back of the movie.
Like during the credits.
If you turn the movie off right when it is over, you miss the song, which is a shame.

I love this song, and think it is a definite compliment to the movie, because it is like a short story in itself.
It is also about NOT losing Hope.
If we lose Hope, then there really is nothing left...

Jane Siberry
It Can't Rain All The Time
~Soundtrack of The Crow~

[SPOKEN:]
We walked the narrow path,
beneath the smoking skies.
Sometimes you can barely tell the difference
between darkness and light.
Do you have faith
in what we believe?
The truest test is when we cannot,
when we cannot see.

[SUNG:]
I hear pounding feet in the,
in the streets below and the,
and the women crying and the,
and the children know that there,
that there's something wrong,
and it's hard to belive that love will prevail.

Oh it won't rain all the time.
The sky won't fall forever.
And though the night seems long,
your tears won't fall forever.

Oooooohh...
When I'm lonely,
I lie awake at night
and I wish you were here.
I miss you.
Can you tell me
is there something more to belive in?
Or is this all there is?

In the pounding feet in the,
In the streets below and the,
And the window breaks and a,
And a woman falls there's,
There's something wrong it's,
It's so hard to belive that love will prevail.

Oh it won't rain all the time.
The sky won't fall forever.
And though the night seems long,
your tears won't fall, your tears won't fall, your tears won't fall...
...forever...

[CROSS BETWEEN SPEAKING & SINGING]
Last night I had a dream.
You came into my room,
you took me into your arms.
Whispering and kissing me,
and telling me to still belive.
Within the emptiness of
The burning cities against which
We set our darkest of selves...

...until I felt safe and warm.
I fell asleep in your arms.
When I awoke, I cried..again..for you were gone
Oh, can you hear me?

It won't rain all the time.
The sky won't fall forever.
And though the night seems long,
your tears won't fall forever.
It won't rain all the time
The sky won't fall forever.
And though the night seems long,
your tears won't fall, your tears won't fall,
your tears won't fall
forever.

thats almost about this song i enjoy as well, by a band called : Jars Of Clay....its a mid 90's song yet it always stuck, i actually found this song ALSO of all things after the credits as well (After i got the CD )....ok i admit i do watch the credits...why ? because after watching Ferris Beullers day off after the credits, the show comes back on and Ferris comes around the corner in his bathrobe and says "Your still here, the shows over, go home..go on now, skit" and the show fades, i laughed so hard and since then i watch till the credits are over to see what happens, and believe it or not, there are quite a few shows that make an appearance afterwords...sorry im blabbering.....heres the lyrics

"Flood"

Rain, rain on my face
It hasn't stopped raining for days
My world is a flood
Slowly I become one with the mud

[Chorus:]

But if I can't swim after forty days
and my mind is crushed by the thrashing waves
Lift me up so high that I cannot fall
Lift me up
Lift me up - when I'm falling
Lift me up - I'm weak and I'm dying
Lift me up - I need you to hold me
Lift me up - Keep me from drowning again

Downpour on my soul
Splashing in the ocean, I'm losing control
Dark sky all around
I can't feel my feet touching the ground

[Chorus]

Calm the storms that drench my eyes
Dry the streams still flowing
Cast down all the waves of sin
And guilt that overthrow me

[Chorus]

Lift me up - when I'm falling
Lift me up - I'm weak and I'm dying
Lift me up - I need you to hold me
Lift me up - Keep me from drowning again

RIDING THE STORM OUT! by REO SPEEDWAGON

For one it totally ROCKS! It's the spirit of soaring above the odds of this life regardless of disappointments and delusions. Love the instrutmention of it, and the fact it represents raw power of the feeling being out in the elements of the wilderness where I often explore. It's the uplifting spirit inspight the storms of life. Especially trying to win in this sexual lottery of AdultFriendFinder.
A O I hear the sound of acsoutic guitar in the head phones of yet another tune... Mm Mm Mm Mm
The music carries on and on when no rrelating is happening, or no woman cares. Hope lives on and on... Hey Hey )))

My 2nd favorite songs are at a tie.

Foreplay by Boston (it is actually an intro the following song, but it is itself song-length) and Riders on the Storm by the Doors. Long intro and all.

CuteAZguy, thank you for sharing the lyrics to that song. I am going to look it up. Yeah, it is hard to know about some movies, because they give the little twist in the end. lol

guynamedjim I like that song too.

One of my all time favourites from 1977 (and I remember where I was exactly when I heard it for the first time!) and a classic by ELO from the classic album "Discovery" (it should be noted too that the other ELO classic "Don't Bring Me Down" came from this album/CD too!).

I love this and can't get enough of it and I hope some of you remember this song too!

Shine A Little Love

Although the things you've done I wouldn't criticize.
I guess you had your way.
You see I gotta make you understand.
I know it sounds a foolish thing to say.
But it don't matter baby 'cos' today's another day.

CHORUS

You shine a little love on my life
You shine a little love on my life
You shine a little love on my life and let me see.

Remember, tonight we're gonna run till dawn
Remember,tonight we're gonna say.
We'll never stop we got a good thing goin' on.
I know you've heard it all before.
But I really need you darlin' every day I need you more.

Repeat Chorus

Can you understand.(Yes I understand)

Can you feel it's right. (I know it is)

Will you be the same.(I'll do it all again).

It's been a year now and it's getting so much better.
You came home without a word.
Though everybody said you'll soon forget her.
Thay couldn't see and they just didn't understand.
And lookin' in the mirror there were fools at either hand.

Can you understand.(Yes I understand)

Can you feel it's right. (I know it is)

Will you be the same.(I'll do it all again).

How many days had I been waiting there to tell you.
I really can't believe.
We're walkin' out into the world tonight.
We'll do it all again until the break of light.
And the feelin' in your heart will soon be shinin' in your eyes

Repeat Chorus

I love Beethovens 5th and Fur Elise.
Joe Satriani actually made good with his instrumental version of the 5th too.

Nothing like great classical piano though.
