New Year's Reflections

As we approach a new year, it is time to reflect on the events of the past year and make resolutions for the new one to come. As I look back over the past year, I find myself grateful for many things. Most of all, I am grateful that my father's open heart surgery (on October 26) was a resounding success and his recovery is progressing very well (although there were a few set backs and scares along the way). It made me realize how important my family is in my life. Looking back over 2005, I also find that I had become too comfortable being single (by that, I mean doing things by myself). Not that long ago, I had a very active social life through the singles group at my church. But over the past few years, that group disintegrated as many members got married. My resolution for 2006 is to get back into dating again. I actually started this process this past October when I joined this site. Unfortunately, during my father's hospitalization, I was not taking full advantage of all that this site has to offer.

Well, it is time to sign off and get to my New Year's Eve Party. Best wishes to all who read this for a very prosperous 2006.
