Flame wars

Over the past several days I noticed more than one little "wars" going on in the advice lines in which different members are saying negative things about other members, using their handles. Not only does this seem to be very poor etiquette, it detracts from the purpose of the advice lines. One of the "wars" seems to have arisen out of an over-reaction one member had to the responses two other members posted to a couple of questions he posted concerning a fake profiler who had been posting a lot of garbage on the advice lines. The other is more of a cat fight among at least two, maybe three, different women. It appears to have arisen out of a somewhat racist question one of them posted about white women wanting to "date" black men. It is bad enough when the fake profilers pollute the advice lines with trash and garbage, do we really need real members to start verbally fighting with each other as well. We do not have to always agree with each other, and the sarcastic response is appropriate in many instances. But that is no reason to engage in direct personal attacks, naming other members by their handles. The only time it is appropriate to use another member's handle in posting to the advice lines is to compliment them on their response, to agree with such response or give credit for quoting a portion of their response in your own response. hopefully, these little "wars" will quickly subside.
