The Great Macaroni and Cheese Universal Question or Where did it all go

I grew up in a small town where on Tuesday night there were fellowship diners at the local Baptist church. At these dinners I was introduced to macaroni and cheese, not that Kraft crap but real homemade food. I must say that I miss those days. Life seemed so much more genteel. People took the time to do things. None of this instant prepackaged crap that is handed to us in an effort to appease the populace. We often seem to be caught up in the acquiring of mass consumable products. We have no time for the simple joys of conversation or the desire of personal contact. We would rather sit in front of the computer and type drivel to someone that we hardly know half way around the world in an effort to appease the longing and need for human contact. I miss small town America. I miss having good conversation with people face to face instead of the condescending babble that serves as intellect in the world today. No longer can we take the time that is needed because there are too many things to do.
All of us look for companionship, sex, stimulation, mental and physical. As a result we turn to sites like these hoping by some small chance someone is as lonely as we are. We long for something yet we fear even the slightest thought of rejection. Will we be liked? Are we sexy enough? Are we intelligent enough? Will some one find us interesting? And yet the thought of having to carry on a conversation with someone face to face scares the shit out of us. Not so in days past. People shared fellowship and took a genuine interest in their neighbors and friends. I know that the world is a different place now but so are the people in it. Still dear fellowship I miss macaroni and cheese!
