I'm new to this.

You'd think that in this "day and age" we should all know how to work one of these infernal machines... but... although I'm not a Computer nerd, I'm not an idiot either. Part of my responsibilities at work is to update certain files daily, via a dedicated ISDN line. This morning (23rd September) my brain was in neutral. I stared at a blank black screen. I checked the Computer was "On"... I checked that the "Server" was functioning... Well all the lights were on anyway... Except mine... After Several 'Confused' minutes I went for a cup of coffee, and a quick visit to the 'little boys room'. As I strolled back to my desk I spotted the problem. (You've guessed it), the plug into the back of the monitor was on the floor!!!! Oh well, we live and learn... Keep Smiling xxx

Don't feel bad.

I once flipped out at work because my new computer seemed to be acting up. I'd heard it boot up and make all of the right noises, but the screen remained blank.

Why? Because I hadn't turned the monitor on. D'oh!
