Went to this year's "Starlighting" in town - for those not familiar with Castle Rock, CO, there's this star made out of lights on top of the rock itself, been there for I think 60 years now. It's got a lot of history around here, so when it gets lit up - it gets a town event to go with it.

My daughter and I walked around downtown for about an hour, dodging people everywhere. Last year wasn't as crowded - didn't think this town grew that fast, but apparently it has!

So crowded, we decided to come home and watch the lighting & fireworks that followed. Sometimes living right under the rock has it's advantages ... a perfect view!

I've never been fortunate enough to visit Colorado though I know that much of it is breathtakingly beautiful. I'm glad that you and your daughter had a good evening... those are exactly the kinds of moments one should be sharing with their children because it will stay with them forever.
Have a good day, Jendi and a great holiday!

Sorry I missed the lighting. I was elk hunting on the western slope. I would like to meet you over coffee, lunch or drinks. The best days for me are Tues/thur. since both of my boys will be in school/preschool around noon.
