To Hell in a Handbasket.....

A disproportionate amount of the deviant behavior in the world is demonstrated by men. I realize that this is no revelation to anyone. But I've been more attuned to it in the news since it was referenced in a post I read recently.

Are decent guys supposed to go through life apologizing for the behavior of others? Are we at a constant disadvantage by trying to overcome the way that women have been wronged in the past? And not just for the ones that have been wronged, but for the women that have to view any of us with suspicion based on the likelihood that we might be deviant? I guess this even begs the question, is there such a thing as a decent guy? Is that an oxymoron?

I'd like to think that I'm a decent guy and that others exist. But maybe I'm not and maybe they don't. It is all in the perception. If someone was a "decent guy", how can you tell? And if it's possible to tell, how come the indecent ones end up in relationships? Just curious.

Sorry, but I had to laugh. I just got out of a relationship with a guy who cheated. I'm still getting over that. A friend told me that I just have to remember that not all guys are the same. And I even know some of the decent ones. The reason I think the indecent ones always iend up in relationships is because they lie. That simple, they just tell the girl what she wants to her. But, honesty is always the best policy.

I agree. Honesty is the best policy. But then who doesn't lie? Is that only a characteristic that guys have, or are they just more predisposed to make use of it?
