Breakfast or Dinner? Sunrise or Sunset?

Today's message is dedicated to a special friend, who has been challenged recently. She knows who she is.

One of my favorite sayings and one that has changed my life so much -

"When you change the way you look at things - the things you look at change" - Dwayne Dyer.

It is not only a law of physics, but a law of life. I cannot tell you how I have changed my life so many times in so many ways, in an instant, from this simple law. I have gone from depressed to hopeful in an instant, and vice-versa. This can go for the whole range of emotions and thoughts. Even physical health. It all depends how I choose to look at something, internally or externally.

The picure of the sun, how do you see it - is it a sunrise, or a sunset? How does a sunrise make you feel and think? How does a sunset make you feel and think?

I like the sunset best myself. That is probably mostly because I seem to be a bit of a night owl and insomniac, so my phyical and mental energy is just starting to gear up at this time. And, don't often get myself up early enough to enjoy those sunrises. And the sunset makes me think about a day that has passed - the evening ahead, and the hope for tomorrow. Evening is time to enjoy the fruits of labor and life - good food, fine wine, conversation with friends and loved ones, relax time and favorite hobbies, and if you are lucky to have a partner - passion. And the repose of that elusive sleep - recharge the internal batteries.

Sunrise brings the challenge of the day ahead, ready or not, and the memory of yesterday to sober reality.

Breakfast - food to give energy to jumpstart for the challenges and activities of the day ahead.

Dinner - food to enjoy at a leisurely pace, reward of a days labor and activities finished - time to commune and enjoy with colleagues, friends and family.

Todays menu:

Appetizer -

Cheer up! Remember today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

Main course -

Yesterday is but a dream, tomorrow but a vision. But Today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore to this Day. --Sanskrit Proverb

Dessert -

The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly. --Buddha

How about you? Does this meal make you think of anything? Please digest it first, before commenting. Sometimes you have to wait for the aftertaste.

And - what do you like best - breakfast or dinner, sunrises or sunsets?

all the best,

japantiger -

I see each and every sunrise, sunset, breakfast, lunch and dinner as the best.
I can't take it for granted that I will see the next one.
I am not ill, or sick, but you never know what the next moment will bring.
Best to see the magick in each moment, instead of passing it up in favor of the next, because some day, there will not be a next.
