Who is joining the insanity?

The day after Thanksgiving is one of the busiest days of the Christmas season.
Stores open early(5am-6am) with special early bird sales luring the customers in to fill their shopping carts. Rarely does a customer leave with just that special sale item(s) they intended on buying.
Now as a shopper you have planned on getting a few great sale items from different retail stores. So now you are at the first store with your cart full ready to check out and in a hurry to get to the next store, and you notice the lines at the registers are backed up. Are you surprised? Everybody else had the same idea to get up early and get all those bargains. After 20 minutes of being at the checkout, finally you are free to move on and repeat this process. The only difference is the next store there is no parking spaces open. So now you have to circle around like a vulture ,watching for a parking space to open up.

You've repeated this process a few times and now you are home with your purchases. You realized : you forgot this, you bought that in the wrong size and color, you should have also picked up that other item, you misunderstood what someone wanted and bought the wrong item. Now you have to return to the store to exchange, return, and purchase again.

I realize not everyone has this experience. And not all people let these things stress them out. I just find it amusing people would want to put themselves in that situation. Many people do the shopping in teams so the shopping gets done quicker and someone could watch the basket during a potty break. They participate in this day as if it were an annual sporting event.

I am not in the mood to participate this year. If you are participating, good luck and safe shopping!

I was in a thankful mood because I no longer work in retail. I worked retail for 11 yrs. A few of those years were as a customer service manager. So I have worked most sides of this shopping insanity.
