After Having A Wonder Day............................................

A friend lost his job last night. He is an OTR driver, and was let go in Ohio. He said he was orignally from Philidelphia,PA. His AdultFriendFinder profile said his home was black River Falls,WI. The truth is he really doesn't have a home and has been living in his truck or, on his day off, at the main office for the company he worked.
I do not know why he lost his job, maybe he wasn't making his delivery times, or worst, being too picky on the jobs. It's a hard job and I would never want it.
I am imagining Frank trying to get a ride from another OTR driver to PA. That is a safer way, but companies do not allow riders unless it's planned and they sign a waiver. So the trucker is risking his own job by giving him a ride. It's too dangerous for him to hitch hike to his mother's home, I prefer to think he will get rides from other drivers.
This drastic change in his life will give him time to think about what he really wants in life. He said he wants to find a woman to settle down with, but with the job he had, there was no way for them to develope the communication and trust that is needed. Frank also said he was afraid of getting hurt, well he has to make up his mind, to get what he really wants or to continue running from it!

I am sure I will hear from him again, as we have each other's cell phone numbers, and I think I can track down his mom.

Frank where ever you are at this moment, hugs and remember there are those who love you.

damn. it always sucks losing your job, as i know first hand. hope he's doing ok, and you definitely turned this into a positive for him, and i hope he sees it that way as well. If I had the money, I would have driven him to PA myself, since it is only a couple hours drive. He's a good guy. Hope he gets to his moms safely.

Yes, these are things we discussed, so he is aware of them. I hope he takes these things into consideration when applying for a job.

Thanks J.

I made to my moms here in philadelphia pa.
J.You are correct an all points.I am looking for and wanting and being in a wierd job to doing any of that.

Well i got canned over a difference of opinion.Job performance was 100%.I was not picky.I went were ever they sent me,never complained.

It was over Idle time. The price of fuel is really hitting hard and they(Owner) told me point blank that i was not to idle.

When i asked how do in sleep in a hot truck,i was told No idle means NO IDLE! So i was doing it any way.

Well that was that,so now i am re-starting all over again.

Its a strange feeling that i have now as i have never been fired from a job.

Things happen for reasons that we as humans cant understand or accept, because they(events) are set in motion by unseen forces and it is up to us to deal with them.It can be so overwhelming.
Right now i am on the edge.Everything else that was connected to my employment such as child support an my sons medical insurance have crumbled like a house of cards.

Its the support thing that worries me the most. There are so many penalties that come with this turn of events it could worsen my situation.

Well,anyway,thats nuff bout that.
Thanks for you thoughts and prayers.I will keep in touch.

dear jaimie, if you get a chance to talk to frank, ask him to contact his workforce development office in his state of residence,
while he may have collected and exhausted unemployment benefits, many states offer educational assistance and bonuses to companies' that hire a newly unemployed person. There's money and assistance out there. Each hire center also offers computers, job applicaiton and search assistance. He can use the center whereever he is and get benefits if he paid any taxes.

Good luck frank.
Truly beautiful life changes come many times after crisis. What's around the corner may have been waiting for you for a long time.

as a former otr trucker, i know what the life is, it is hard. depending on why he lost his job, will be the reason it will take awhile to get hooked up with another company, unless it was a serious DOT problem, he should be ok, with finding a new one, unless he is tired of driving, then, that a different story.
