Housekeeping and consistency.

I'm not quite sure where the housekeeping part came from, but somehow it just flows well in the title. I'm not a fan of housekeeping even though it is a necessary evil and an essential for dirt-free living. I guess there is the added benefit of the French maid fantasy, unfortunately that's for a later date and time.

Consistency, for today's purpose is an attempt of keeping my contacts or e-mails from being repeats to individuals. Recently I received a nice note from someone who showed an interest in exploring common interests. Unfortunately, we had already communicated several weeks earlier and we were not a "match" then. When I pointed this fact out in a kind and gentle manner, I also suggested a way to maintain consistency that may help avoiding this embarrassing situation in the future.

I keep a record of my e-mails and responses to make sure that I could possibly avoid repeated contact and do not become some cyber-stalker. I would rather have some decorum and respect for the members on this site and hope that the same is shown towards me.

I realize that this is not a fool proof measure, but at least it is a start. Now if I could only practice what I am preaching. Consistency, it's a wonderful thing.>>>itsallfun1957

I too get the same emails from people who have tried unfruitfully to romance me only just a few weeks earlier. I send out very few emails, so I guess it is easy for me to keep track.

I send out a fair number of e-mails attempting to reach some intellectual common ground. Maybe my expectations are a wee bit higher than they should be. There is always hope.
