Quotes for the Day

Just got thinking and thought I would add these from my personal library of cool quotes... ok, let me qualify that. Cool being what I consider cool.

'For it is the doom of men that they forget'- Merlin, Excalibur. I remembered this one, when quoting another by Merlin in this excellent film.

'Only those whose lives are so brief can imagine love to be eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. I think it is the greatest gift your race has ever received. - Lorien, Babylon 5. I've used this before, but it bears repeating, especially these days. Life is so short, yet we can imagine it to be as sweet as we want it to be. Is it eternal? That, my friends, is up to you.

'It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone.' - A. Bartlett Giamatti. As baseball season nears its end, and my team is likely to not make the playoffs... I understand these sentiments completely.. as do Cubs fans, and until recently, White Sox and Red Sox fans.

Until next time,

I used the second one a while back in a comment and then in a post of my own about 'losing' a spouse or other loved one. One of my very favorite all time quotes, most of which seem to be from B5.

BUT...YOU attribute your quotes, etcetera, AS THAT. SOME...do...NOT!!

[post 461621] 'award for WRITING' goes to...EMMA TOM of The Australian for US gets itself in a noose with its core democratic values" from THE WRY SIDE ON JUNE 14, 2006!

[post 453661] 'award for WRITING goes to...MOSNEWS for KFC Tortures Chicks: Animal Rights Activists in Bikini!

By the time I get to Phoenix 'award for WRITING' goes to...London Reuters for We don't want to be disrespectful to dead fish...

[post 458358] 'award for WRITING' goes to...I am lost {without spaces...and without plagarism!!!!}

[post ??????] 'award for WRITING' goes to...SOMEONE ELSE, AGAIN!!!!

And what do we get for our time to read plagarised posts? Let me show you:

"...figure in a monk's garments thrust a large steak through each of them while screaming I AM THE FUN GOD. Forensic examinations of the bodies later revealed that each of the fatal blows had been administered through their backs." WHOSE BACKS? THERE ARE NO SUCH 'PERSONS' SO THERE CAN BE NO BACKS, NO FRONTS, NOR ANYTHING ELSE BUT LIES!!!! THEN... "This Blog is Now Terminated. No further posts will be made. No regrets. No Apologies. Blog on, Blog Free"

No regrets for lying...how surprising...NOT! No apologies for lying, stealing, and all the rest...how further surprising...NOT! Blog on, Blog Free? We will see...all 7 of my personalities as it's said...although there is only 1 of me, in truth I am me, the Baroness...and WE ARE NOT FUCKING AMUSED!

I guess made up profiles have to have made up fantasies about being politically astute and stealing from another author. And most of it was drivel anyways, defended by people who didn't even look up the source of the drivel. Frankly, it is not that hard to come up with a reasonable thought. Pure laziness as far as I am concerned.

As for the cited works above (the quotes), my faves tend to be the B5 ones as well.

Great quotes! Hope you don't mind, I printed them out. But I'll be sure to give the credit to the characters/movies/sportswriter that is due.
