Necessary Equipment

My previous post reminded me of another childhood learning experience that only makes me laugh.

I lived with my dad, stepmom and stepsister. My sister is younger than me by 7 years. I had graduated college and was living at home trying to get my life in order. (Still trying to do that.) But as the story goes, my sister, another sheltered child, was reading the newspaper one Sunday afternoon. You have to know, my sister never reads the newspaper. But there she was reading an article and she comes across the word sodomy. She gets this very quizical look on her face and asks her mom "what does sodomy mean". My step mom is a bit of a prude. And with this said I look at my dad, who isn't so prudish, and we exchange glances. How is step mom going to handle this one. My dad- the chicken, bows out of this one and heads upstairs to the sanctuary of his bedroom.

"Well- dear it's like this" her face turning read my step mother starts the all too familiar birds and bees talk " it's when a man and woman have the necessary equipment..." Laughter breaks in from the far reaches of the house. "Honey", my dad yells,"you better come here and let our other daughter finish this one." Being the dutiful wife and just wanting to get off the hook she trots upstairs to my dad...So being the big sister and all I give my sister the birds and bees talk...maybe a little too scientific, but enough to curb her curiousity until she is ready for the rest.

But I am still left with that lingering doubt, that unanswered question...just what is the necessary equipment???? (perhaps a whip, a rope or two???) *evil grin*

Cute story ... did your sister ever become less of a prude like you?
