Ageism is alive and well

In the time I've been out here, I've conversed with some intriguing people. Unfortunately, I've also come across some mindsets that leave me just shaking my head. The most common one, sad to say, is the belief that a man my age isn't supposed to be here.

Sorry to disappoint you kiddies, but it's time for a few truths. One, you didn't invent sex, nor do you have a monopoly on it. Two, I do happen to enjoy it and would like to find a woman in my area with similar interests, whether you 20-somethings like it or not. Three, you may or may not live to be my age. If you do, I'm sorry that you will face the mindless discrimination that I do. But hey, you deserve it. It's called karma.

I prefer women closer to my age, but I do talk to others. It's called being sociable. Those of you who like to dismiss someone out of hand should consider that.

Hey, I remember thinking when I was in my twenties that people in their fifties must be dried up, worn out sexless creatures.

Boy, was I wrong! (Thankfully).
