COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA - A man who created a sexually explicit contract requiring his wife to fulfill his every desire was convicted Friday of sex abuse and domestic assault.

Travis Frey, 33, of Council Bluffs, was charged with first-degree kidnapping and domestic abuse assault causing injury. A jury of 11 men and one woman found him guilty of third-degree sex abuse and domestic assault.

Frey was accused of tying his wife to a bed and sexually assaulting her in April 2005. In testimony Thursday, Frey claimed it was consensual sex. He said he asked to tie her up, but didn't after she refused.

Frey said the "Contract of Wifely Expectations" -- which contained rules for how his wife should dress and behave and required that she be his "sex slave" and do "anything and everything" he wanted -- was a sexual fantasy that the couple made up.

"Starting when she was at college, we had agreements about sexual favors," Frey testified. "It got to where we couldn't keep track of them all, and that morphed into documents like this ... it was no big deal."

Throughout their nine-year marriage, Frey said several contracts existed, but there were no other copies.

The woman testified that their relationship became "rocky" after she and her husband argued over finances in the fall of 2004.

She said Frey was unhappy about where she and their two daughters were attending church, and she said she became uncomfortable with his sexual demands.

"He said I didn't respect him during the day, and I made decisions without him, and he was going to be in control at night, and I wouldn't be able to stop him," she said.

The woman said she left home and filed for divorce in November when Frey gave her the contract. The document also stated that unless she exhibited "good behavior" and was "totally compliant," she would be "tied to the bed and I will do whatever I wish to you."

Pottawattamie County prosecutors said the case against Frey was one of and domestic abuse and had nothing to do with breach of contract. Prosecutors said a computer expert found more than 99,000 pornographic images on Frey's home computer, some of which had his wife's face superimposed on women in graphic sexual scenes.

Defense attorneys said the case was "he said-she said," and that Frey's having pictures and a contract did not prove the charges against him.

Frey faces up to 11 years in prison.

He also is charged with 40 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after authorities said images of child pornography were found on his home computer.

It's amazing isn't it? I'm sure that maybe in this case, in the begining it was a mutual thing, and then he just kept going. Maybe he was a little unstable to begin with (who isn't) and the sense of control became something he couldn't live without.

I'm no psychologist/psychiatrist, but he sounds obsessive/compulsive, where everything, including his sex life has to be in order. He is probably a narcissist too, where he's the center of everything.
