i can drive stick

that too, but i am refering to my car. its not a shiny, brand new one, but she does the trick. i paid cash for it myself when i was only 17 yrs old. thats the way i am. i dont like handouts.
my parents thought i was crazy to buy a manual car; afraid that i would burn the clutch before the year was through. but i didn't. i learned.
first gear sux. i hate it. there is no use for first gear at all. i struggled with it for weeks. all i had to do was stall out in the middle of I95 to learned my lesson. my father always said "don't let the revs go past 3000 or you will kill the engine." so i never let it go past 2800 just in case. BOY WAS I WRONG.
i love going as fast as i can for as long as i can. i hit 110 all the time. 130 once or twice. i love down shifting for torque to make her go faster. i don't race, i just drive. i love jumping into my car, rolling the windows down, blasting my radio and just driving with no purpose or destination. i think the furthest i have ever driven for no reason at all was hobe sound (just south of hutchinson and stuart).
i relate driving to sex. its a good use of time. its useful for short distances, but better and more fun for the long hauls. i want the engine to roar when i give it gas. i like feeling the vibrations under me. i want it to go as far as it can on the same tank of gas. and even when i am on empty, i pray for it keep going. at least 10 more miles god. please!

It is good when the engine responds to tour needs, and as you already have discovered, is also true that in the long run if you put too much pressure the engine won't last, so you have to ask yourself what would you like: short or long rides, personally I prefer low revolutions in order to have a long and pleasant ride, you can go longer without sacrificing performance and you have control of the the stick!
