A little rant about my job,...

As some here know, I work second shift at a doctors answering service. My voice could be the voice you hear if you call your doctor after hours. We are here for urgent or emergency calls from patients as well as hospital calls on inpatients. Usually all goes well, but there are times when I would like to choke the life out of some callers simply because they are stupid rude and ignorant.

When someone calls in I only need about 4 pieces of information. Your name, your phone number who your doctor is (if there is more than one doctor in the practice) and a brief reason for your call. Some doctors want more info, others less..

Now here is where things get tricky. If you are not the patient, fine, tell me the patient name. Don't give me your child's name or the patients name until I ask. I want your name as the caller.
Give me a number where you can be reached.NOT a home number if you are calling from your cell. NOT your work number if you are leaving work. Answer my questions please. It is not me looking for information, the doctor wants it. I could care less what your date of birth is or what is wrong. Many times your message is also sent to the office and they need the information for your permanent record. And for god's sake use adult words when describing the problem. It is ridiculous to hear an adult tell me little Johnny has not pooped in a week. You are the butt of jokes when I get off the phone. Trust me on this one. And stop and think when you are placing a call late at night. If you were a doctor and getting a call at midnight about a child having pink eye how irritated would you be? Use common sense when calling the doctor.

Another thing no one seems to do anymore is listen. Almost every office that we answer for has a greeting the caller will hear before coming into an operator. It gives you instructions on urgent calls, prescription refills, appointments and hours. Don't hang on and ask me what the goddamn hours are. Or tell me what time it is and the office should be there, or ask me where they are. It is not my day to watch them. It wastes my time and may prevent me from taking a call that may be a true emergency. Many doctors refuse to take calls about medication refills. If I tell you that doctor does not do them, DO NOT ARGUE WITH ME, it will get you nowhere. These are his rules not mine. If you take medicine regularly keep track of it. You know when you are getting low on it, and call during business hours.

And last but not least, remember that I am only doing my job. I am not stupid, nor am I any of the things I have been called. Well maybe I am a bitch now and then, but chances are you have really pissed me off, and you can bet I WILL remember you and have access to the doctor.

Now this little rant goes for everyone, patients and other medical professionals as well. I am doing my job, and feel I do it well. It often is not easy, especially when we are very busy and have to listen to you bitch and moan about how long you waited on hold, or that your doctor is not calling back. I really don't care. Hold ups are caused by people calling for ridiculous reasons and that is often cause for delay. You are only holding me up longer, and remember, the next true emergency may be about you and some idiot could be holding me back from taking your call.

I was about to go to bed, but I had to add some comments. I volunteer as and EMT/Driver for a rural Ambulance core. Well let me add to your frustration, When we get a call at 11PM for someone who has just not been felling well for the past two days and wants to go to the hospital it gets to me, the call for someone who fell around noon, but wants to go to the ER at 1AM, or the asthmatic who is having problems breathing and is out of his/her meds and is smoking when we get there with a foot of snow on the ground. Do not get me wrong, that is what I am there for, but some times I am taking someone to the ER who will be sent home in 15 minutes when there is an Auto Crash and it takes and additional 15 minutes for the Ambulance to get there because they had to call the next nearest.

I love being an Ambulance Driver and attendant and I would not give up my EMT and volunteer status for any thing I do wish some people would wait for normal office hours and call their doctor, not use us as a taxi to the ER late at night.

OOPS I should not be complaining, I did volunteer for this. Am Old EMT has spoken.

I'm new to AdultFriendFinder. Whenever you deal with the public you will be amazed at how stupid and thoughtless people can be. I am a self employed carpet cleaner and your wright people do not listen. I am amazed how often people interupt me after they have asked me a question. I tell them I can't answer there question if they don't let me talk. By the way, you have GREAT TITS. Could you do me a favor and go to my blog and tell me what women want.

Oh the stories I could tell about my job! (Security Officer at the Pittsburgh Airport)... and what a reflection on human nature this post is, not just in terms of a job.

Anyway... I found your blog without even looking for it. I mean, I didn't see it on the blog page. I noticed your thumbnail pic on my home page and clicked on your profile. I like what I saw there, by the way. And then when I scrolled down and saw that you had a blog, well, I just had to check that out too! And WOW!!! four pages!!! I've got some catching up to do... reading what looks like a delightful collection.

I was doing a temp job for a place that provided DME. I understand all to well the aches and pains one has when dealing with patients. I think the one thing I hated the most was the way they would bitch at ME for not having a script. If the doc or E.R. didn't fax it, I can't fill it. Simple as that.

Big hugs sweetie...it's not all bad.

I had to come back and tell you a story. I clean carpets. I had a lady call and set up an appointment for a cleaning that had to be done immediately according to her. Well I already had a job scheduled so I told her I would do it that afternoon. I drove for half an hour to get there and when I got there she wasn't there so I called her cell phone and she says that the renters were suppose to leave a key and she tried to get a hold of me and blah, blah, blah. When I told her how inconsiderate and thoughtless she was she interrupted me so I interrupted her right back and said LADY, STICK IT UP YOUR ASS. I can say that because I am self employed. This is something I have to go through every once in a while. People can't even make to an appointment that they made.

Okay, I'm just going to be honest here, nothing personal. Your handle is great, your photo is knockout... very attractive/sexy.
Problem is it seems all you do is complain thru the vast majority of your postings. I am not condemning you for it, just being honest to what is very evident.

It would seem that your dissatisfaction with men is rooted in the problem that you are not finding exactly what you want. You indicate in several posts about how horny you are and ready for a hot time, yet you say you are tired of men who are only interested in the bedroom. You mentioned one guy who you decided to no longer see because he developed an interest in you and you felt as you were being suffocated.

It would seem to me that you want what you want depending on your mood and needs and a man that is good for one mood, doesn't fit the other. At this rate you will find it extremely difficult to find someone to suit your needs.

I would suggest, at least for the foreseeable future you refrain from intimacy with others and take care of your needs by yourself. Maybe the only one that can please you is you.

Sorry, but I am only responding to what YOU have written.

Thank you so much for your comments and no I do not take offense to what you said. Perhaps a lot does depend on my mood, or rather my current lack of trust in men. Unfortunately my past experience has left me with rather deep scars that will be around for a long time, and I feel there is no need to tell everyone here about it.

As to negative postings, again you are correct. I use this venue to get crap out of my system, rather than vent the feelings to people that have no idea that I choose to find friends and partners on this site. Again there is no need to let the world know that I am here. Not that I am ashamed of this, but not everyone out there is as understanding as this group of like minded individuals.

If you read some of my other postings, you will find that I also write about the positive things that I have experienced and good times that I have had. And there are others I have chosen not to write about, or been requested not to, at least not right away. More than once I have written about something/someone and been questioned by others if it was them I was writing about. Thankfully it was not since I do not want that kind of drama in my life.

Again thanks for responding and I will take what you said into consideration.
