Words To Live By (Part 3)

Blessed are those that can give without remembering and take without forgetting.

The most permanent lessons in morals are those which come, not of book teaching, but of experience.

We must not only give what we have, but we must also give what we are.

Consider each day as another day of life, a gift from God to be enjoyed as fully as possible.

There are two ways of spreading light: To be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.

Faith is believing in things when common sense tells you not to.

If we did all the things we were capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.

A little friendship, a little sympathy, a little sociability, a little human toil.....is needed in every nook and corner. Therefore search and see if there is not some place where you may invest your humanity.

You have to have faith that there is a reason you go through certain things. I can't say I'm glad to go through pain, but in a way on must, in order to gain courage and to be able to really feel joy.

A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes.

Let us outdo each other in being helpful and kind to each other and in doing good works.

A single grateful thought raised to Heaven is the most perfect prayer.

Love, true love, is that which can give the most without asking or demanding anything in return.

Miracles do not happen in contradiction with nature, but in contradiction with what we know about nature.

Blessed is the influence of one true, loving human soul on another.

This intangible thing, love...is an element which binds and heals, which comforts and restores, which works what we have to call ~for now~ miracles.

There is no such thing as a self-made man. You will reach your goals only with the help of others.

In order to be a realist, you must believe in miracles.

Do what you can with what you have, where you are.

Life is short and we never have enough time for gladdening the hearts of those who travel the way with us. O, be swift to love! Make haste to be kind.

Today, a new sun rises for me. Everything lives, everything is animated, everything seems to speak to me of my passion, everything invites me to cherish it.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, is not selfish and does not get upset with others. Love does not count up wrongs. Love is not happy with evil but is happy with the truth. Love patiently accepts all things. It always trusts, always hopes, and always remains strong.

Faith consists in believing when it is beyond the power of reason to believe. It is not enough that a thing be possible for it to be believed.

May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, the sun shine warm upon your face, the rain fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

The greatest gift is a portion of yourself.

We should be careful to get out of an experience only the wisdom that is in it.

Go out and grasp the seconds of the day as if you had only that day to live. Experience and enjoy the moments of your life.
