on my own again..

for the last month, i've had my son to stay with me. he lives with his mum and stepdad, a long way away. so my life has been busy with taking him out, and visiting family.
But on friday we went to worthing to visit my sister, then on sunday morning it was a 80 mile journey to drop him back off at his mums. then the next 250 miles were spent on my own, as i drove home.
when i got home the place seemed so cold and empty and i realised that i was on my own again..

((((hugs)))) to you babes. There are a lot of blokes goin through the same thing at the moment, but i guess that doesnt make it any easier. Dads like you, who love and care for there children despite a break down in their marriage are precious and i hope you realise how special you are.

I have a friend who lives in London and he only sees his son in school holidays and on the rare weekend. His son always talks about his daddy and how much he loves him and those precious times that they spend together are worth their weight in gold. You may not see him as much as you would like but I bet when hes with you make every moment one to remember. I cant imagine what its like for you and I cant find any words that would make you feel better but at least you have this - a son who loves his daddy very much & who is probably counting down the days until he sees you again.

    Hugs and Love

thank you for replying, but the truth is that he will be back among his friends, with his mum and(dad) so he will forget me till i ring him again...lol
kids get used to things quicker than adults, so i dont expect much else from him. as long as hes happy thats all that counts.
thank you...x...

I think the important thing is for you not to let him forget.. he's a great kid and loves his dad a lot, don't ever de-value yourself as a father.

thanks for your comments,it hits at strange times that hes so far away, but that wont be for ever.
i try to keep in contact with him, and tell him every time i phone that i love him and so do all the family up north..
