The Greatest Show on Earth

PT Barnum has risen from the grave and his name is Vincent Kennedy McMahon. His creation the WWE has taken a regional phenomenon and turned it into one of the most popular shows on television. I liken it unto the old carnivals that came to town. Whether it is the Goliath 500 pound Big Show or the big red monster Cain. Whether it is the witchy Victoria or the psychotic Micky James, the whole lot of them are like a giant carnival freak show. The contrived feuds and the feigned injuries are somehow overlooked and we keep believing. The damn stuff is a direct frontal assault upon my intelligence yet I keep tuning back for more. It's not just the bra and panties matches, it the whole General Hospital never ending plot that they somehow manage to blend into the show that has me hooked. They do it over and over again the righteous hero is robbed of his title by the unpopular cheat and we eat it up. All that is required is the ability to turn your intelligence off at will. For this is truly the distillate of the opiate of the masses forever amen

I Swami Johnny see's all, knows all, tells very little.

WWE???? Ok, I am going to *try* to still respect you after this post, eeek...

Rather than going back and posting on the proper (now old) blog post about Berkley, where you might miss it, I will post here...

One of my favorite memories from there was taking my daughter and niece trick-or-treating... there were so many amazing, artistic and beautiful carved pumpkins, it was wonderful. My sister lived in the hills and she had a view from her balcony of both bridges, it was incredible... we would sit out there and sip wine and talk for hours.

Apparently the depth of depravity here is bottomless... don't you feel right at home?
