Northern Exposure

It was the summer of 1998 and I had traveled up from the bay area for my brothers graduation from the college of engineering OSU. From there he had his first job offer from Sharp Electronics in Vancouver, Washington. I thought that would be the perfect time for me to rent a car and sneak up to Canada for a walk about.
I could not believe my eyes when I got to Vancouver BC, it has to be one of the most beautiful of cities. Now this is coming from someone who has lived across the bay from San Francisco and traveled to New York City. Vancouver although smaller has a futuristic brass and glass feel to it. There seems to be more of an emphasis on form over function. The hall of justice building is a glass and tubular steel menagerie that is an amazing demonstration of unorthodox architecture. The cable stay bridges and rapid transit system make Vancouver a world class city. I am very much looking forward to traveling there this summer.
From there it is a toss up whether I will go to Vancouver Island or up to Whistler. I think the island has more options and will probably go there. Because I am with others we will probably just go to Victoria. The place that really interests me is Barkley Sound, Bamfield, Tofino, and points beyond via trawler, but that may have to wait for another summer.

I Swami Johnny see's all, knows all, tells very little.
