Trying to get comfortable...

I'm going slowly crazy here! Since Sunday's "fun", I've been alternating between excrutiating pain, or floating on a valium-induced cloud. The trouble starts when the valium starts wearing off, and I'm still several hours away from taking the next one. I'm not usually one for popping pills, but I am taking all sorts of combinations here to ease the pain. One box of pills can be taken four times a day, another box only three. Then there are the pills that leave me with a dry mouth about half an hour after I've swallowed them, and no matter how much water I drink, I'm still thirsty.

Then there's trying to get comfortable! I'm up and down like a yo-yo at the moment, as lying down too long isn't comfortable, and standing is no-go, so I alternate between lying down and sitting down. My hot water bottle is my new best friend, and I've got hard-backed chairs scattered all over the house. At one stage on Sunday I told Mr Hansen it would probably just be kinder to shoot me and put me out of my misery. He asked me where we kept the gun...

Yesterday the doctor told me to stay home for the rest of the week, but fool that I was, I decided "hell, what did he know??" and climbed in my car and drove to work. I lasted 4 hours, and then my friendly Net Doctor, Dr Prince, told me to go home. So I did. What a clever man he is... a much better bedside manner than my usual doctor, even though he's not actually said where he studied, but at the moment, who cares!!

Love, hugs and kisses from ♥♥HH♥♥

Good advice from the good doctor! But be careful - if that's the Dr. Prince I know, his studies have largely been performed at mental institutes.

As a patient.
