I'l Take That Bet

I have a friendly bet going on, the bet is take off 30 pounds in 6 months, starting June 1st. At the end of this bet I'll get what amounts to about a $300-400 prize so thats about 10 bucks per pound.

I need something to motivate me, I can get discouraged pretty easily, especially if I don't see the scale moving down as fast as I want it to, I have a tendency to give up.
While I'm by no means considered fat I can definitely stand to loose those 30-40 pounds.

I've always been the immediate gratification type, I realize thats a serious personality flaw. Sometimes the best things are worth working for, sometimes I should have just stayed with things a bit longer instead of giving up, sometimes if I could I'd kick my own ass for not either waiting or working for something just a little bit longer, things would have turned out so much differently.

I'm going to try to remember that, as the saying goes patience is a virtue.

Go on South Beach and stick with it. You'll win the bet. I am living proof.

Let me drive. I like the view

I am trying to figure out where you are hiding those 30 - 40 pounds. You appear rather slim in your photo on your profile.....

Heartnsoul- it helps if your rather tall for a female, you don't notice those extra pounds as easily.

Good Evening
For the past three weeks or so I am determined to lower my cholesterol and get into better shape. Every morning for breakfast I drink a low fat shake, Atkins, slim fast or such. I look at the fat grams per weight. Then for lunch I eat fruit all different kinds of fruit and believe me you can get tired of one fruit very fast. When I go into work I take the stairs up 10 floors everyday. I am very winded when I get to the 10th floor. Everyday when I leave I take the stairs down 10 floors. At night I have a good meal not big but good. I also have cut out all the cookies and cakes after 7:00pm. I do setups and pushups at night I am working my way up slowly. I have lowered my cholesterol 40 points and lost 5 pounds already.

Best of luck to you keep us up to date

Well I hope I can be a little motivating. I have lost 125 pounds and 14 inches in my waist. I did it by seeing a nutritionist and counting calories. You need to look up your height/weight ratio on-line. There will be an expected calorie daily intake for the height weight you desire. Any number below that should lose weight. Try to avoid fad diets - people tend to be unsuccessful with them. Exercise is also very helpful (I run marathons now). Hope I was a little motivating.

Cheers
