Lie to me once, shame on you. Lie to me twice, shame on me.

So my boss was gone last week and I filled in for her. Okay, that is what is expected, I mean I am suppose to be the "second in charge" person. Well I put up with everyone's shit last week and that is fine too...

But I was told by the head of the company that I should start looking for someone to work for my half time so I can go train other people at other facilities. Cool, a promotion of sorts, more money and responsibility. Granted I have not have a raise in a year and a half. But I took a reduction in tuition costs for my daughter instead. Silly me...

Someone had come in last week and fille dout an application and I told them we might have a part time job opening and I was thinking, "This is perfect" etc etc. Well when my boss came back today and I gave her all her messages and info, etc etc I told her what the "head" of the company had said.

Later as we went for a quick latte (this being seattle and all) she informed me that the woman brought back the application and my boss told her she was "sorry she was misinformed but we had not openings". I was like, "So was Toni pulling my leg when she told me to start looking for someone?" and her reply was, "Well we are just thinking about doing that." That's great but they have been thinking about that for over a year and I had been asked months ago to helpdesign the training program for new hires...and this is what you tell me? Ummm, yeah Fuck you.

So I quit my job...and they will try to negotiate with me but I feel like it is too late. Okay so I let myself get sucked into to doing office work and for covering people and training people and I don't make much more than the new hires with no experience while I have 11 years...hmmm fucked up you say? Well yeah but that is another story. But I am done with doing the job my boss should be doing, being lied to and putting up with shit from my co-workers.

So, here I am, about to start something new. I made a phone call and already have a job lined up making more money and being the boss...nice! Too bad I have a commute but I will have more free time and will have more fun. Things are looking good from here!

I had no idea it was like that, haven.

I hope things work out for you.

You seem pretty determined to have things your way.

It's a shame that people can't be straight up about things, life would be so much easier that way.

Thanks everyone and since I will be one of the actual bosses...I am pretty excited. My new boss is someone I really like and we both feel we can learn from each other so it seems like a great situation from here.

Having a meeting with her on Thursday to hash out details.
The funny thing, as I was leaving work today I was on the phone with my "new boss" and walked right past my current one to leave for the day. Granted we were just chatting about general stuff that we talk about anyway but just seemed humorous to me.

I did get them....I got pulled into a meeting with all the "big people" in the company and was asked what it would take to keep me.

I got the distinct impression they think that I am a push over because they talked about what "our" next steps were in the company and I am more like, "I did not say I would stay".

They asked me what my decision was and I replied "I'll let you know" and the head of the company said, "Okay I will talk to you tomorrow." and my reply..."I'll let you know next week." Somehow I finagled a day off tomorrow paid without using any of my vacation time either..sweet!
