You just don't get it

OK how many of you guys have gotten this one. You are talking to you significant other or girlfriend and you say something or post something and the next few lines transpire:

“Why didn’t you tell me about that before?”

“Did I need too?”

“Yes, I tell you about these things.”

“But it was so unimportant.”

“But I should have known.”

“Yeah, but it was really nothing.”

“You just don’t get it, do you?”

And exactly what are we guys to say to that? I don’t know but this is one of those little bits of dialog that I have heard before. The really funny thing is that it really was something unimportant. As guys I guess if something happens that really is of no consequence we sort of forget about it, after all it did no harm, no foul and so that was that. But for some reason the feminine gender seems to think it was important.

In my case it was a bumper kiss. As you may have read there has been a sign floating over my car that says “Hit Me” for the last few days and yesterday someone did just barely bump bumpers with me, but the only thing to come of it was to remove the dust from my bumper. Literally no harm no foul. I neglected to mention it to my SO and got the above conversation.

Did I really have to disclose this very minor incident to her immediately or even at all? I really do not get it. Things happen to all of us every day and we rarely share everything that happens all day. Hell, in my case the Swiss cheese memory makes that even worse. Did I screw up? I just don’t know. Or maybe I just don’t get it after all.

You really just don't get it do you!!! Your SO cares about what happens to you and even a minor "unimportant" thing to you causes some concern to her. So if you really do want to get 'IT' you might want to start sharing even the smaller incidents of your day....Just a little advice from a womans point of vies....

the day that your daily activities and pitfalls become trivial is the day that there is something wrong.....so if you consider the communication boring..spice it up a little. I know you and you have a wonderful way with words!
