Slut vs. Saint
Slut vs. Saint
Silly me to ask, but I thought as a side note to the SinCityBrunette post “Age vs Experience” I would pose the question:
Would you want a slut or a saint in bed?
I pose this to both men and women, for can’t both men and women be sluts or saints.
It would seem to me that I would want the classic “Saint on the street and slut in the sheets”. Or not. I do like the occasional public display of affection and letting those around me envy my situation. You have to admit there is a rush to putting my hand under my GF’s blouse and fondling her tits right there in the restaurant. Or even getting her off in the movie theater. Don’t tell me a saint would allow this, but then again this may not get you off either.
But these mere acts would not make her a slut. I think the definition of slut is one who sleep with just about anyone. I am not sure I want anyone that feckless. So I guess the term slut may be open to interpretation, but I would say use your definition of slut when thinking of this.
On the other hand, I would put saint as someone to behold. Someone in public that is impeccable in manner and protocol. Someone you could take out to a very fine occasion and she would reflect so well on you others would be envious. I am not sure how a saint would come about the sexual experience, but presumably she would, but I could not see her being terribly experienced.
So there is the trade off, vanity for sexual experience. Which will it be?
Note: the icon is a composite and not all who you may think it is...

can a man really be a slut? as I posted, men who sleep around are considered studs or players...do I want one of those as my man...hell yes! Let him be the saint on the street when everyone else is looking, but a slut (stud) when I have access....ok he can even be somewhat of a slut when we are out in public...pda's .... life would be wonderful|

I think that is one of the problems I have with this site... b/c while I do enjoy a little PDA every now and then... I am not one just to sleep with anyone I meet; I am much more particular than that... and it would seem that most of the men on this site seem to expect the slut instead of the saint merely by association with this site. I have HUGE problem with that, as I have expressed all too often through my blogs....Is it possible to have the best of both worlds though??? Someone with saintly attributes but enjoys sex as much or more than a slut in bed???? hmmmm....|

(Cracking my knuckles as I wade in on this one)|
Ahem... Ok, having read the original post, as well as the comments, here are a few comments from the rafters(or the dungeon, depending on your point of view):
1) a slut, while often refered to or defined by their promiscuous nature, sexually speaking that is, can be either male or female. SinCity, you say that a man with prodigious sexual encounters/conquests cannot be a slut, but is a "stud". I contend that the term stud is a fallicy created by such men and their male friends to perpetuate a double standard. Men, by nature, are capable of being as slatternly as any woman, and just because their macho buddies give them pats on the back, it doesn't change what they are.
Saints, by definition, have three main attributes that I would not necessarily want to be categorized with. It's true that a saint's reputation by common parlance is beyond reproach. However, since the only "saints' in existence in the world belong to the Catholic church, it is IMPORTANT to point out that many of those canonized were not the most well-mannered people in their mortal lifetimes.
Saints were supposed to be very pious and devout and CATHOLIC, and as a Jew, I do not want to be confused with those who worship a mutilated body on a cross as the symbol of one of their three deities.(Nothing against Catholics... its their church I have problems with... and many of those who perpetuate it) In point of fact, the Catholic Church has made it policy for several centuries to move into a country and preach the word of their beliefs, creating new converts by taking local pagan deities and turning them into Catholic Saints in order to encourage the 'heathens' to be 'saved.' I think that taking deities like Brigit of Ireland and Christophus of Syria/Turkey and turing them into Catholic Saints is monstrous and totally funny from a historical point.
Another attribute of a saint is that they are supposed to have performed miracles, either during their life, at the time of their martyrdom or death, or that their relics (i.e. their corpse or parts thereof) accomplished the same. Puh-lease!
I understand the spirit of the post, and the comments after. I just felt feisty and decided to let everyone know that words do have power. There are few people who do not want a partner in the bedroom who is adventurous and insatiable, and who can also be the perfect lady or gentleman in public, this bringing honor and distinction to their lucky escort (that's you!) But the metaphors people use rarely are because they thought it all the way through... such is life!
Personally... I've never been proper enough to be a saint, and am too old to be a proper slut. I guess I'll just have to settle for being me. Yay!
