Formal Events

Now I know why I am so...how do I say..."laid back".

I'm a T-shirt and jeans kind of guy. I don't get into being all dolled up in a shirt and tie (heck, my job doesn't even require it of me and I'm an engineer!) and sit around at a fancy dinner. I own nice dress clothes, don't get me wrong...stylish at that (I love the Geoffrey Beene "sateen" shirts..have white and burgundy and looking for some others for special occasions) but all in all, I'm dress-down.

Right now, I'm here in sweats and a t-shirt (what I normally sleep in, to be truthful ) as I type this.

Is it me, or does being formal make people "front" a little? Is being all formal hiding behind a mask of some sort? I watched tonight as people just seemed to be different than when I'm normally around them. It's almost as if you flip a switch by putting on a different outfit!

Just be real. Be who you are, with or without the outfit. It just makes more sense.
