Is it wrong or am I getting old.

The original title of this was going to be so “So wrong” but I was watching a news program this morning (yes, it was Fox and Friends but please don’t judge me) and they were going on about how President Clinton hates turning 60 and their question of the day was “how do you know you are getting old”.

Well, I answered that question last night as I was channel surfing. Not a great night of TV and the TV ended up on Miss Teen USA (A Donald Trump production). As I started to watch it, I started to feel strange. Have I become a pervy old man? I’m sitting here watching girls (not women) parading around in sexy outfits and bikinis. The “girls” ranged in age from 15 (15!!!!) to 18. I resolved that I could only find the girls who were 18 hot as they had the right to vote and were at the national age of consent. Still, I was amazed at how mature these girls looked. The 15 year olds looked like they were in their 20’s and the 18 year olds looked liked they were pushing 30. Have I gotten so old that I can’t figure out how old girls are? Have I gotten so old that I felt like the whole show was exploiting these girls (not to mention their parents). Was it necessary for them to wear bikinis? What happened to the talent portion? I could hear myself in my grandfather’s voice “in my day…..”

I started to feel that NBC aired the program to recruit more men to get caught on their “Catch a Predator” series (they did seem to run out of tape on that show). That is right; the same network that aired all those shocking stories of these creepy guys trying to meet teenage girls from chat rooms was airing this teenage sex-o-rama for the eyes last night. A bit hypercritical, don’t you think? The worse part is that the winner (Ms. Montana) will probably be subjected to being pawed by Donald “I’d do my daughter” Trump. (I’m now making the sounds and motions Homer Simpson would make if he had to give Mr. Burns a sponge bath).

If I forget that I felt a little creepy, I can’t forget the part where I felt old. I was truly old enough to be all the contestants’ father. This same thought was given to me by my wife when we were in Atlanta meeting other bloggers last week. One of the bloggers was attractive, smart and mature. By the way she carried herself, I figured her for mid 20’s as most of the bloggers there were in the mid 20’s and up. On the second night that we all went out, she was dressed in a sexy manner and looked really hot. This is when I was told (or reminded) that she was only 20 and that I was old enough to be her father! When I brought my tongue back in to my mouth, I started to feel like a dirty old man. I know that I should not have felt that way but I kind of did.

When I was a teen and was sneaking peaks at my father’s playboys I used to think in the future, there would be two signs that I was old; one was when Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark could be seen on normal free TV on a regular basis and two, when the playboy playmate’s birthdays on their profiles had dates after I graduated high school. Well, with those metrics, I’m there!

I guess in the chronological sense, I know I’m getting older but I still feel young. I still play x-box, watch cartoons and still do dumb things with my money. Not to say that is all I do as I do very adult things too like buy my own wine (get carded every once in awhile) and join a site like AdultFriendFinder.

I guess you are young as you feel, so despite my bad knee, I still feel 16. As I’m still 16, I guess it was ok to watch Miss Teen USA (in a non-sexual way) and think that the 20 year old was hot.

So, as I have my mini mid-life crisis in my mind without the sports car, I have to ask, have you had that moment when you felt old?

By the way, in case you think I’m a geezer from reading this, I’m really not that old……I’m still under 40 (barely).

How about we stick with the "your as old as you feel" part and ignore our real ages?

that is good advice.

Aw, honey, it's okay that you're a dirty old man...you still think I'm hot even though I'm getting older, too. Hmmm...on second thought, does that mean your eyesight is getting worse?

Without all the dirty old men, who are all the women like Anna Nicole Smith gonna marry when they need money?
