What did you want to be?

While growing up, I remember that there were those stages where I contemplated what I wanted to do in life.

The first thing I remember wanting to be was a Veterinarian. Mostly because I love animals..most anyways...and wanted to be of service to them. But, after learning that sometimes, you have to put them down for one reason or another, I decided against it.

Then, the next thing I wanted to be was a professional basketball player. I played the game for about 10 years. I loved it. The problem was, I just lost interest in it.

Then, I wanted to go travel the world and help people in foreign countries. Like Peace-Corps or Missonary...something like that. But then, after hearing of the tragic deaths of some who were taken capture and murdered by some militants...I decided it was in my best interests to stay home. Not that I'm afraid of dying....just too afraid to fly in a plane.

Then I wanted to be a DIVA for WWE. Sounds kinda silly when you really look at it. But, I loved the attention that women get from it, and I also LOVE to get PHYSICAL with others...lol

Then..I wanted to be a teacher. I have a love for Science and Math. I also love History as well. I had this awesome History teacher growing up and he inspired me. But, getting pregnant sooner than I expected kind of derailed those plans.

Now, as of right now, I really don't know what I want to do. I have many options available to me, if I wanted...but not really the drive...or the want to really fulfill it. I always have my comedy to fall back on...but...it's not always the best. I would probably not make it on LAST COMIC STANDING..lol

So...here's wondering if anyone grew up to do what they wanted...or if they chose a different path. Here's to wondering if there is anyone who wants to hire me...say an on-line job...or personal sex slave...

***** My quote of the day, inspired by my husband.

"If a woman wants it done right..she needs to do it herself. If a man wants it done right, he needs to go find a woman to do it for him."

I've wanted to write since I was 5 yrs old. Through the years, I've had other aspirations. I thought about being a Lawyer (I still contemplate that one)---I thought about a Museum Curator (love love History--opted against it though). I was a Journalism major, decided against it because I don't want to be told want to write.

I'm 27--I still want to write and have several works in progress. In the meantime, I need to settle on something to be a fall back career until I actually do become published (I could be 50 before that happens.)

I wanted to be many things as a kid. I'm actually somewhat involved in it now, but I make a living doing something else. I heard somewhere that, Is there anything you'd do even if you're not paid? If so, then pursue it. So I'm doing it and not making enough so I have a job that pays my bills to follow my childhood dream. Good luck to you and great quote. Maybe that's why I'm having problems, no woman.

I grew up working in my parents store. I was running the register at age 10. I worked for the family for eleven years. I had plans to take over the business when Dad retired. Then he sold the stores. I worked in retail for another thirty years as manager, buyer, and district manager. In every instance but one, the companies went bankrupt. I was left without retirement, cash, or much of anything else. At age 50 I started over. I started in a new industry, and hope to soon have my own business. I want to start a travel agency. So, if you want to fly, come fly with me. I'll take you 6 miles high and several inches deep. LOL....

I don't think I ever had a clear idea of what I really wanted to do and then I fell into something that I really love doing. I work for myself, keep my own hours and make almost no money, but I am happy. I think that is the key.

My original plans since I was about 9 was to grow up and teach kids to ride horses. After actually going to school for it, I realized how much I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately circumstances being as they were, I had to abandon my dream and now 3 years later I am competing with teenagers for good grades so I can go to my dream Med school of Brown. Horses will always be a part of my life, whether it's just as a hobby and exercise, or if I will actually be able to make my dream come true we will see.

The quote is extremely accurate.

I've always felt like I'm supposed to be someone important, but I've never really known in what field. I've leaned towards computers for a while simply because it's a hobby.

Personal sex slave position is open. We're working on that online job

I shoulda been a wrestler. It would beat the hell outta what I'm doing now.

For a while, though, I wanted to get into radio. Music's my passion, and I wanted to work in that field. I'm not the best talker, as I sometimes trip over my tongue when speaking, but it seemed like an ideal job.

Yeah, I'll say it again. I should been a wrestler. LOL

Come into my realm! You aren't afraid...are you?

Well this might seem strange to most of you...the dream job I wanted is not a easy one and perhaps isnt viewed as a glamorous one either...its a thankless job most of the time but I wanted it anyway...I wanted to be a Soldier...Im a fighter its in my blood...call it the call of a warrior if you will...unfortunately...Ashma prevents you from getting hired....So the next best thing....A video game tester and perhaps designer..yea that what I want to be...havent gotten there yet though...

I grew up to do what I though I would...kinda. I was voted most likely to practice law as a trial attorney in high school. As I got older and more and more lawyers were coming out of law school, it dawned on me that they will all need paralegals, so I became one. I made the best decision because I make more money then most associate attorneys out of law school, and I don't have a $800.00 a month student loan bill every month. I go home at 5 pm (most nights)I don't have to carry my own liability insurance, I get more client contact then the attorney, and I still get to go to Court.

Law school is still an option for me, but not until I find an area I enjoy enough to specialize in. The world has too many general practice attorneys.

A dear client of mine once told me ...."You know what they say, if your attorney doesn't know, ask a paralegal!"

I wanted to be an Astronaut. Later had thoughts of being an Astronomer. Then I worked in a planetarium as part of a program in HS where we went out of school 1 day a week. Decided I did NOT want to be an Astronomer. Then didn't think much about what I wanted to do. Goal was merely to get my college degree: Biology. Not finding a Job ended up, by chance, going to graduate school and getting a degree in Science Education; yup I'm a math and science person too. Whilst I was getting the degree I took a 2 week summer job, which turned into an all summer job, that turned into 21 years and counting working with computers. Along the way I still had dreams going back to my roots. I entertained the idea of becoming a Mission Specialist for the Space Shuttle program. They are the Astronauts who perform the science experments, etc. But wearing glasses and laser correction not being available at the time I would not have met the physical requirements. So I did not persue it.
But I still haven't grown up so there is always hope. lol.

Sure, I'll hire ya. Sex slave idea is good but I wouldn't want a slave. I would want you to cum to work because you wanted to. A willing participant. So there!

sorry for being MIA,

I first wanted to be a pediactric nurse, until I read this sad story about a child who passed away. So I decided not for me, I get to attached to easily to little ones

Being in the Marines or Air Force, but at the time was told I was too short My asvab scores rocked, I could pick and choose what I wanted to do. When they told me that, shot that down.

Then I wanted to be a P.E. Teacher/Coach I was even teacher aides when I was in High School, back then the schooling to get in, sucked, its not as easy as it is today.

Then I went to Nanny School, am certified, did that for a while, traveld and saw parts of the state I wouldn't have other wise.

Then I was blessed with my own kids

Then my world evolved around my children and being the best Parent I could be and NOT do to mine what was done to me Full time mom until my daughter was in the second grade Then I worked for the school district, as well as teachers aide, coach etc. Now I take photos for the High School sports teams

As I have gotten older I have realized that when I thought I couldn't have my own children I wanted to be around them Now, I have a hard time dealing with today's children. So I just shoot pictures instead of being in the coaching or teachers aide aspects.

hugs and smiles

ps you find that on-line-job, or sex therapist job. keep me in mind *wink*

Me? I just want to be onstage ... I want to sing. I do sing at the local clubs sometimes. The only thing that makes my heart light up and my soul feel free. The one thing that places attention where I love it most, right on me.

I can sing, I sing well. But between my kids, my significant other and my family it always seems like a "bad time" to pursue my dream. So I stick to the things I am good at. Working with people and money. Meanwhile, I write on the side get paid a little for that on occassion, love to write, just not enough spotlight or voice in it for me. I want to be heard, I want to sing and dance. My voice begs for a million ears.

Alas, it settles for two or three at a time most days. <sigh>

I am content in my jobs now...it would be nice if I could only have 1 instead of 3! Anyway I still love being a firefighter/emt even if the pay is low.

You could be my sex slave and I could pay you in pens and band-aids

Actually what I have become is in many ways close or parallel
to what I wanted to be.

I want to be like "Mae West" and have all the men falling at my feet without sex first. But that's too much to want, I guess.

I was a teacher, then a Nurse,(had the nurse cape and bag when I was 5 yrs old) which I loved with all my heart and soul. I'm a caregiver by nature. Now, I'm working in a different capacity, still helping people, but not upclose and personal.

My greatest job ... being a Mom!!!

Simple answer, MANDY....
What else would I want to be.......
An Astronaut.... and failibg that A TREKKY....

I can't say that I am a real Sci-Fi fan,
but I did enjoy, Doctor Who, with his Police Box,
and the original series of Star Trek......
I can remember sitting down at the controls of
my TV every Saturday, and being transported
to the humorous world of the Outer Space......

So I want to be a Trekky...

I am not Star Trekking, Across the Universe
No Star Trekking, Won't see Captain Kirk......
I am not Star Trekking, Across the Universe
No Star Trekking, my engine it wont work.....

I want to Boldly Go,
where nnes been before.
I want to be beamed up,
To see what is in store.

I want to get there fast.
My Warp drive, it's on Go!
I'm full of Enterprise,
No point in going Slow....

I dream of being a Treky,
and to seeing that Universe,
but only been as far as London,
and that was in reverse.

I think my rocket's faulty.
I have water in my fuel.
Lost the blue touch paper,
and my engine's running cool...

I am not Star Trekking, Across the Universe
No Star Trekking, Wont see Captain Kirk
I am not Star Trekking, Across the Universe
No Star Trekking, my engine it wont work.....

I went and bought the costumes,
and I got some pointy ears.
I now talk with a Scotty accent,
and bought tables in light years...

So I am now all ready,
and I really look the part.
My mind is eager, willing,
but my motor, it won't start...

My Captains log is missing
but I found a twig...
My razors not stunning, useless
and never did find Uhurah's wig....

So want to see the last frontier
but not going behind that rock.
Want to explore the great unknown
and I got a change of socks.....

I am not Star Trekking, Across the Universe
No Star Trekking, Wont see Captain Kirk
I am not Star Trekking, Across the Universe
No Star Trekking, my engine it wont work.....

So guess I won't boldly Go,
where I've never been before.
I will never get beamed up,
Will not see what is in store....

Never see a Kling-On
or other monsters too
Never see the stars up close
and get a better view....

So guess I will stay right here
with my feet planted on the ground...
Why would I want to boldly Go?
If noone is around.....

I am not Star Trekking, Across the Universe
No Star Trekking, Wont see Captain Kirk
I am not Star Trekking, Across the Universe
No Star Trekking, my engine it wont work.....

Lyrics by SleepLess Knight..... 2006 with a bit of help from a song of that name...refrain sort of same..lol
