Intimidating? Me? No way...???

After bowling tonight, which, don't ask me how I did because I did poorly...I was approached by a guy who obviously wasn't paying attention to the rings on my finger or the shirt that I was wearing that read "I am TOMMY'S GIRL so please look but don't touch." I had it made just for me. Anyways, he was asking me what I was into (as if bowling wasn't obvious) and what type of man I liked. (Which I like my men to have teeth and take a shower at least once every other's obvious he didn't)

He then told me that I was one of those intimidating women. He told me that he didn't know how to ask me out. I told him I was flattered, but that I wasn't really looking because I was married.

Now, the thing is, in the last two weeks, I have been told I was intimidating quite a bit.
Guys and I really that INTIMIDATING???

people who are truthful are intimdating to others. even though it is good to be honest and forthcoming, many people have trouble dealing with the for real world you likely present them with.

I get that a lot myself...however...intimidating is not always a bad thing to be my friend. Take care!

Mandy (BTW, I love the name Miranda and I really enjoyed your answers to the three question posts!),

Intelligence = intimidating (especially for the average intellect)
Beauty = intimidating (especially for us guys who heard 'i like you but only as a friend' too many times in HS)
Stength of convictions = intimidating (especially for the average Joe who doesn't know what he believes)

I still have a little problem with #2, but I am working on it!

Intimidating, shmidating! I still can't get past how dumb as a post this guy was! Sure a guy might overlook a ring - but for god's sake - what about the shirt? That man is one (of many) example of how dense guys can be...we don't get matter how time how about you arrange for a neon sign over your head saying the same as your shirt?

By the way - not intimidating based on the smile. But I'd hate to catch you when you are ticked...

People with strong personalities and with strong convictions are always gonna be intimidating. I get it a lot too. Frankly I am not surprised you do too. You are outgoing, blunt, and outspoken; it will always happen to a woman like you. But with your mouth, just tell them to go jump in the lake. Or any other choices phrases you may have at the time...

never having met you i couldn't honestly say if i found you to be intimidating or not. i've found that most ppl who speak their mind and take no crap are thought of in this way. i've been told the same thing alot in my life and i think i'm a very friendly person, but as my wife says i dont have that lil filter in my brain that says don't say that outloud. so dont sweat what some people think just keep on being you and they can just deal.

3/2/2006 12:12 am only to the weak or perhaps those men or women who rather be lied to rather than hear the truth. Truth and honesty can always be intimidating no matter how painful or blatant. Two ingredients I live if its intimidating then I guess I'm in.

I agree with mrsanders... especially on the intelligence part, since the second isn't my strong point, and the third... well, I preach tolerance and open-mindedness.

Guess that makes me intimidating too.
