Do you think they care?

Now that the days are getting shorter and we spend more of our waking hours during the dark hours of night there is a question that once again has made me stop and wonder......

I have two dogs, Emma and Charley. When they go outside at night to play and do their thing, do you think they care if there's an outside light on or not?

LOL...I know I probably sound silly, but I can't tell you how many times this question has come to mind. There have even been times when I would head straight home from whatever I was doing because I felt bad about them being outside in the pitch dark.

As a dog owner, I don't think that it bothers them at all. My dog has as doggie door and he is in and out until everyone goes to bed.

As long as I give her doggie treats my Cocker Spaniel does not mind if the lights are on or off. She does have a problem with the junk mail in her email box but I remind her if she did not have this email then I would get stuck with all that stuff I don’t want and it’s easy for me to delete it all at once each day from her inbox. I only wish I could get the cat to be so understanding.

Dogs (unless they are old ones, with clouded lenses) are just fine in the dark. As wild animals, they would have a dark den (much like a fox or wolf) and hunt day or night.

If you live where there are other various wild things (possums come to mind to me), the light is to make sure you're letting in the dog not the critter.

So, you want the light on for you, I think.
