Choosing the right mood for your post

I have noticed that the more I blog, the more I think about the right word to describe my mood. It can't be just any word, it has to be THE word.

I often like to go with the first word that comes to mind like "elated" or "stunned" or just plain "shitty". Three words which by the way are not on the list. In all actuality, most of the words describe an emotion rather than a mood but I'm ok with that.

What about words like "drunk" and "erect" (both on the list)? What are those??? Hmmmm..."Let's go out tonight, I'm in an erect mood!" LOL, somehow that just doesn't work for me. (In more ways than one I might add. )

Then there are the times when you write about something, but are in a mood that doesn't really match. For instance, I wrote about Katrina the other day in a tone that was "sympathetic" (on the list). But my mood was actually more along the lines of "crappy" (not on the list). And how would it have looked if I had said my mood was "happy" (on the list)?

"Ambivalent". I love that word. I have wanted to use it several times but it's not on the list either.

Btw, can anyone please tell me what "exanimate" (on the list) is? The Yahoo dictionary can't.

If you think you are as bad as I am about choosing just the right word, let me ask you this. Do you edit your post, knowing it can't be viewed for awhile afterwards, just to change the word you chose to describe your mood?

*Sigh*, I'm feeling a little "anal" @!@ (not on the list) right now..LOL

One more thing I would like to mention........................

I sure wish they would give us a link to the smileys when creating a new blog post like they do when creating new email.

Btw, does anyone know what this smiley is?

Please tell me what YOU think about all this.

I found a use today in my blog for mood: erect.

It wasn't quite a mood, as such, but I decided to use it as I'd written the blog standing up ...

As for the smileys, yes I'd like to see a link ... or, at the very least, a help page. I'd also be pleased, for a start, if the blush smiley ( ) worked reliably.

The weird smiley looks strangely like a cross between a tree and a mushroom cloud ... I can think of thousands of times I could use that

As for the smiley with the hair bow ... it looks incredibly evil to me. Zombie schoolgirl?

I agree, the mood list stinks and I could use the smiley key myself, I don't know them by heart. I sometimes send stuff that gets a smile in it where it don't go, the punctuation just adds up to a smiley. I could maybe avoid that if the key was in front of me!

I think the tree smiley is for people who are in an erect mood.

ladiez. .... stop by the group and put this in either a new thread or add it to the wish list We have asked before but who says we can't ask again

And ... the mushroom cloud ... as far as I know there are rooms where that emoticon is used for peepz beaming out of there ....

I got tired of trying to remember the smiley's so I did print of the smiley face page to my PDF printer and now I have a Adobe PDF file I can call up to see what I want to use. The is called “mushroom_cloud” on the Smiles Key page. You can check out the name of the smiley by right clicking on it and then do a "save picture as" and it will come up with the name they have assigned it.
