Lunch with Sally

I had a most wonderful time today, I lunched with one of the ladies in our group, as the title implies. We had made plans to do this to talk about an idea she had for the board. She called and we met here as she had business in town, though I would have gone where she lives as it is the same town I work in.
Well when she came into the restaurant I met her and gave her a hug and we sat and beganto talk. Oh my how far a field did our converstion take us. It was like to old friends who had not seen each other in years and were catching up for all the years lost. I doubt there was a subject we did not touch on.
The time seemed to melt away as we talked and the place filled and emptied a couple of times before I looked at my watch and realized we had been there for nearly three hours. The time was well spent for as I sat across the table from this wonderful lady I was certain that here was a friend, a lovley, intelligent, well spoken woman with whom I have a good time. She is warm to be with, someone who brings out the best in those around her. She told me that she has not had many friends in her life and explained why and wants to remedy that. Through the group she has met one man who she likes and sees on occasion so she is starting to have friends to see and do things with. She expressed to me that this was new and wonderful that there were now people she could call on to do things. Here is one lady with whom I hope to stay in close touch with as she is close to me in miles and fun to be with. the man she is seeing from the group is also one who I would like to get to know as a friend so in the long run of things we are both expanding our circle of friends in a ripple affect.
How nice that what I started as a way to bring others in the area together has grown into an ever widening group of friends who want to get together and do things as a group. It will be interesting to see the developments of the next year.

Wow, I made it into someone's blog! How amazing! lol... GJ, I also had a really great time meeting you for lunch. You are such an entertaining fellow! I am happy to call you friend, and proud you consider me one as well. ALthough I have not let meself get too close to people in the past, I do want to change that, and think that our group is a good place to start. We all have similar life experiences, and share a desire to learn and grow from each other. I think we are also able to be honest with one another without judging. I, too, look forward to the upcoming new year and getting together more with the ever expanding group.

Sally, I truely enjoyed our lunch together you are such a warm and personable woman to be with. Bright, witty and full of the joy of life that everyone loves to have around them. I hope that this year finds you the many friends that you have missed out on for so many years before this. If you need that rent-a-husband you call me and we can workout the payments in meals together. Love your company and you, so you call me anytime.
