Disasters

As we all watch the news from Loisisana and the gulf coast area our hearts go out to those people as do our prayers, yet little more than a week ago our own disaster was in the news and those people are still in need. The towns of Avoca and Stoughton were ripped apart by tornados and here we are viewing the next great thing that is across the wire. Who but those who are directly affected even care about those who are in need right here in our own backyard.
Where is our sense of community, that which make up a scociaity, have we become so disaffected so removed from one another that those who live just down the street matter less to us than people half the continant away?
I rant at he wind and hear my words thrown back at me, who would be so foolish as to scream at mother nature in her beauty, then why cry at her fury for each is a side of who we are, the best and the worst.
