A story of fairies... continued, For Tracy

Over the next few days I went about my days as usual, but with something of a lightness in my step. My little faerie was still with me not having found the way back to her home. Concern for this was of course more hers than mine for I was enjoying her company for at each nights meal we would talk, well she would talk. The first night I asked her to tell me of her people and her home, from then on I needed do nothing more but listen.
From her tales I came to understand that the fairies were the guardians of the four elements of earth, air, water, soil and fire. Each kingdom was based on the element of their protection. She was a water faerie and to me one of rare beauty. Her stories of her home intrigued me and after she would wonder off to bed I would make notes of what she was telling me.
To describe her, she is fair of skin, flaxen of hair, brilliant emerald eyes and 6 to 8 inches of height, with a comely figure. After the third day and her still with me I went to town to the doll makers shop and bought some furnishings to make her more comfortable. A table and chair, a proper bed, bowls and plates and some flatware. The Doll maker, knowing I had no family close and no child, looked strangely at me when I bought the items. In vane I suspect I passed it off as a fancy but doubt he believed my story.
That night at evening meal, her place was set across from mine, she giggled and smiled up at me and bade me close, lightly kissing me on the cheek. That night we ate in near silence, for all she could do was giggle and smile at me. From this I could only find amusement, but had a warmth in me not felt in so long a time.
As I cleaned up the scraps, some that I would normally throw I saved and put aside for her next days meal. She in the meantime had found that I had set up a small room for her near the fire with the bed and curtains for privacy. My back to the hearth, I suddenly feel the brush of wings on my shoulder, she whispers "thank you" in my ear and again kisses me on the cheek.
What she says next makes me drop what I have in my hand. " You know we fairies can take human form." To Be Continued...
